I don't rightly know, I have heard some Isles fans say he was deployed differently with worse players, and some say he is useless. But a 50 pt season proves that he can produce when he has quality linemates. Prob needs to be moved to the wing. A lot of young centers like him start on the wing and move to the middle unless they are rock solid on faceoff like Horvat was, or a savior like Matthews/McDavid/RNH/Mackinnon, etc.

Question - if he played 10 games already is that another year of his entry level contract? Or did it start anyway as he played a lot last year?

Not to mention he is a proven playoff performer. He shows up when it counts. And brings a solid game on both sides of the puck.

He's extremely valuable come playoff time. 34 points in 70 games for a player of his calibre is exceptional and he could provide extra leadership and a boost to any bottom six in the playoffs.

Experience go's a long way and he's got it.

It is hard to make it through a day without someone on TV or the radio talking about JV and what they should do with him?

These are not stuff we are making up, he actually did sit most nights in the press box as a healthy scratch. That is his coach and GM that are scratching their heads not the posters at HB.

No one in here is saying Canucks must get rid of him ,but how long do you think Benning Linden will put up with these distractions?
