These types of PF players always seem to have issues with performance and attitude. Some of them make it, and some don't. It's up to the organization's leaders to STAND up and tell them when enough is enough. The Captain SHOULD be the first person to tell these types of people to fall in line, or else. Problem is we have a nice guy president, a nice guy Gm, and nice guy coach, nice guy assistant coaches and a captain that wouldn't hurt a fly. Literally. No one stands up to JV so he walks all over everyone.

Willie Mitchell would've smashed his pert head in first time he lipped off in his rookie season, and from there who knows what would've transpired. Probably would've fallen in line, or been traded but at least we would be DONE with this situation... #DRAMACOUVER it never ends...

I think a lot of these guys have to do so little work in junior as their natural size and speed can dominate. They are not trained for adversity and act like prima-donnas when things go wrong

I know the trade for Strome suggestion has been made. Also knowing the Islanders and issues to improve now are big. Plus it's all about helping Tavares win now so he doesn't want leave as UFA.

I have a suggestion.

Two in their prime great team high end performers that we love. Tanev and Hanson. They would give Isle fan base a can win now hope. The cost to them is Strome,who's lost favor and needs a change, plus Isle 2017 1st & 3rd rounder. It would have to be package to balance out for both sides.

Why could it work?

Well, Isle's don't need another 1st rounder to wait on like Strome they have seen this movie before. Garth makes move to keep his job. We get a guy to replace Chaput and ride him to get his confidence back. Maybe he becomes a 2LC behind Bo long term. Plus most important Canucks get a likely lotto pick. The Islanders may climb up with these additons but not far enough. Besides problems with coaching etc well you know our guys will get injured again.

So win win for Canucks in potential lotto & depth pick plus young potential top 6 forward/center for rebuild.

Once this becomes Horvat and Gudbranson's team I imagine things would be handled more directly in the locker room. Also chances are WD won't be around by the time that happens, so you could get a coach who's more of a hard ass. At that point it's fine if we have nice guy president and GM.

Problem is that doesn't solve the issue at hand.

Agreed. Think Dorsett served a purpose but that has played out. Would love to get Gallagher from Montreal though. Price would be a decent addition as well---

I don't think many players are off-limits as even Gretzky was once traded but I would imagine those players are as close to untouchable as they come.

Man, I could not sleep last night. Just tossing & turning, worried about who the Canucks are going to pick in the entry draft in June. When I finally did drift off I woke up screaming, remembering they still need to protect Gaunce from the expansion draft.
