Brasard and Turris are in their prime and have several years in the tank. Improving Defense would be best as they would be in win now, rather than blow it up. Brown won't be impact for 3-4 years. Lazar makes a good 3rd line center. - Retinalz
They had drafted Brown before they traded for Brassard so that could have certainly changed their plans. Always looking toward the future and drafting BPA could have been Brown for them. |

You might want to make another edit...
http://sports.yahoo.com/n...ers-exempt-004322515.html
Methot is Karlsson's Right (left) hand man.
Phaneuf must be protected.
That means they have to choose between Ceci and Methot. - Max.Betts
I guess dropping his NMC in the trade meant nothing then. But you see, you FINALLY made a good post where someone had incorrect information and you posted proof of the opposite and didn't make yourself out to be a total bumhole about it. Good Job.
EDIT: Doesn't mean they can't ask Phaneuf about dropping the NMC before the expansion to allow him to be exposed. Ask him first, if he agree's trade for Tanev. Highly unlikely LV would take on his contract. Ottawa surprised the league big time when they did. Esp without retention. |

Now that we have spent 22 pages of negativity can we talk about the game?
Canucks beat Tampa 5-1. This is a team that was in semi-finals for 2 straight years, that's pretty positive.
Did anyone else think Biega had a good showing or was it just me?
I like how solid Tryamkin looks in own zone, also like Granlund more every game.
Any thoughts? |

Trade Granlund to Montreal for a 1st. Sell high as we always say.
I hope the offence comes for TRy.
They also won without their top pairing on D again. WTF do they even need them for anymore, trade them for scoring help. |

Will be hard to choose between Baerschi or Granlund on who to protect. Only way to keep both is to trade Hansen really. |

Ok, EVEN IF PHANEUF AGREES TO WAIVE, THEY STILL DONT HAVE SPACE FOR CHRIS TANEV. |

Ottawa has 4.69 in cap space currently full roster. More that some are on IR.

Tanev 4.45
SO STOP YELLING BECAUSE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUR YELLING ABOUT!!! Steve Carell, he's funny. |

So when Brown is ready to impact brassard will be 34 ...seems like a perfect transition to me |

This is my second problem, you guys overvalue canucks players. Baertschi is basically waiver-wire fodder. He's on the "second line" because we dont have a better option. |

I wasnt talking about the salary cap moron. There is more than one definition of space. |

That's why you trade Tanev after the expansion draft and before the entry draft. |

what kind of space do you need? You going to keep a AHL player instead of a top 4 defencemen? |

Not to mention his dad Jeff is the coach of the Ottawa 67's. And I am well aware that doesnt preclude Logan from being traded. But I will say the optics suggest they didn't draft him to trade him for a shut down dman (THAT THEY ALREADY HAVE IN METHOT) |

And I am 100% on board with the canucks exploring that. But every single day it's "trade Tanev, trade Edler, trade Hansen, they have value dontcha know".
And it's true, they do.
But not while they're hurt.
And not when teams are facing a serious roster crunch in June.
By all means look into moving these assets, BUT NOT IN FKING DECEMBER! |

Doesn't Tanev have ntc that kicks in on July 1st? All the more reason to trade him.
I say this and I am a big fan of his but we need offensive help and we can't keep expecting Skille and Megna to pack this team on their backs offensively. |

That's more of the reality. JB isn't moving anyone so it's all about development now not strip down. |

Biega was solid and got an assist. Tree didn't miss a beat with new partner. Granlund is doing more then anyone expected. Not waiver wire fodder which is an undervalue assessment by our angry poster of the night. |
