More like Methot. Even then, two first rounders for Tanev is a little bit on the homer side no matter how you slice it - neem55
Tanev 'might' get you a first rounder if he could play more than 40 healthy games...after that...good luck. |

If we don't take a contract back I would do Brown + 2nd. Horvat + Brown could be a good 1c2c |

Why does a ufa have to be young? Benning could've re-signed Dan Hamhuis for a couple years, and still been near the bottom of the league, until they developed their own young defencemen and kept McCann. - Pacificgem
Because Gudbranson is going to be here to develop with those young players. we had 1 player between 24-28 before JB came into town. 1. Sutter and Guddy were excellent pickups IMO. I've like Granlund a lot this year too.
McCann was expendable, it was a good trade. |

That's a severe undervalue for Tanev. |

"Botchford said he knows of two teams that would be willing to acquire the Sedins for their full combined salary-cap hit of $14 million. "
Bien Ouiiii.
The Devils and Hurricanes as the only two teams that could realistically absorb that hit and i doubt either make the playoffs - Whiskey-Tango
Totally see the Sedins waiving to go to both |

Ya that's what I lean towards as well. I think he is definitely worth a 1st at his age/skill though. Injury has not been an issue throughout his career. |

We called up Pedan. - A_SteamingLombardi
Garbutt is a forward to replace Dorsett though. Pedan was probably called up to have someone sit while Biega draws in for Larsen

The more people on the move Tanev train the better.... Get rid of him, while the getting's good.
Drouin and a legit d prospect or a draft pick in the 2nd - 4th round range would do the trick. Have to get at least one real player back and not just the future potential of a 1st rounder. |

No chance. This team is in a holding pattern on making player moves. - Nuck4U
Canucks fans whine about the lack of physicality from Gudbranson and that the entire team is soft without Virtanen. Now Dorsett is out the rest of the year and the thought of claiming a grinding 4th line forward who plays a similar game to replace him is essentially ludicrous. |

Have you watched Drouin play? Tanev and a 2nd for Drouin maybe. Maybe. |

I was wondering how long it'd take you to show up when I started talking about trading Tanev |

We'll agree to disagree.
He keeps trying shortcuts and failing, all the while costing assetsand draft picks. He's not been very good so far in my opinion. |

I'm not trying to defend his dumb statements but if you factor in cap coming back in the form of other players there's other teams he could be talking about - NorthNuck
Sure, but those player's wouldn't be anywhere near Sedin quality while the team that's likely to want them would do so on the basis of contending in the playoffs, meaning the players they do ship over are not core guys while their most valuable asset (to us) would be a mid round 1st.
All in all it all it appears very far-fetched.
Would absolutely love to see the twins in a position to hoist the cup though

Luke Schenn is ever bit as good as Gudbranson. - Pacificgem

Definitely disagree. Can't build a team of 18-21 old players. I might be one of the biggest pro-tank/trade for draft picks people on this message board. But trading for 24 year old top-4 d-men and 25 year old centers is just smart rebuilding, plain and simple. |

he hasn't proven to be a top four guy, just because you say it doesn't make it so. |

Based on comments and actions since signing LE seems JB has player acquiring on hold. He has LaBate there if they want more grit and toughness. Plus JV if they think he's ready again. |

Well he played top-4 all of last year for Florida and they made the playoffs and dominated the east... so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Hutton for two years in a row is our statistically worst d-man, if anyone is unproven top-4 d-man, it's him. |

I hope LaBate will be given a chance to take Dorsetts spot for the rest of the year. Would be nice to see how he performs with some consistent play time |

Not sure how much ice-time Schenn logs in comparison to E.G, but his underlying stats certainly look better (on a worse team defensively to boot). |

Last comment but I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. I agree with the concept of rebuilding the defence but not at the expense of a young developing centre when centre is a huge weakness in your organization and a second round pick. |
