I don't want you to take any offence to this Jared, but I'll be honest. I know why the comments have dropped off.

Your blogs read like news paper articles. They are very matter-of-fact and to the point.

There isn't much to debate. You give a solid run down of how the games go but there's very little to no analysis or opinion. Without that, there isn't much to discuss.

People commented a lot on Yost's blogs cause he was the king of analysis (and it has to be tough to follow in his footsteps).

People comment a lot on Tanner's blogs because it's pretty much ALL opinion (and ridiculous ones at that).

At the end of the day, the question is: is a blogger's success determined by the number of comments? If you point to Yost, you'd say 'yes'. Point to Tanner, and it's a clear 'no'.

There's nothing wrong with Jared's style, but if we are going to get comments, it's going to have to rely on the commenters to start the debate.

In that vain, here's my point of the day: I think it would be absolutely ridiculous to move Z. Smith away from the top line right now. The guy has been the best Sens forward in the last two games, and there's clearly come chemistry between him and Stone. He does what Hoffman is unwilling to do: He goes into the corners and wins battles. Stone is too slow to get there, and Brassard isn't strong enough. Boucher would have to be an idiot to split those three up right now. They compliment each other perfectly.

I hate to say it, but move Hoff to the 3rd line. Maybe he can get Lazar going.

The thing is, what is "success" for a blogger? Isn't it at the end of the day, to get hits? I'd say Tanner is very successful in that regard. So Jared, we need some controversial blogs.

I disagree with moving Hoffman to the third line. Lazar has had trouble going since his time in the league. He honestly could benefit from a long stint in the AHL. Dzingel and hoffman spent a long time down there and were better players for it.

The ship has sailed on Lazar. He just passed the threshold for games played. He now has to clear waivers. The team completely (frank)ed up his development. They turned this kid into another Manny Malhotra.

What's done is done now, though. May as well give him a chance with some more skilled players. He's not going to do anything with Pyatt and Pageau.

Smith should not be moved from the top line. As I said earlier, he deserves it and is complimenting the other guys. The second line has been doing well lately, so it would be dumb to split them up.

The only thing left is to put Hoff on the 3rd line. He'll probably benefit from the softer competition anyways. Other than the PP (which he will still be on), he hasn't looked good at all this season, so the demotion can't really make things worse.

Well its clear that both Hoff and Smith have great chemistry with Stone, and for one reason or another our "top" line is pretty much just Turris on most nights.
I would say put Hoff--Turris--Stone together and Smith--Brass--Ryan (which unfortunately puts Dzingle on the third line) just for a game or two to see what happens. Also I hate to say it but Phaneuf is looking like a better contract than Ryan right now. Hopefully Bobby can bounce back in the second half, I remember when we first got him he was ripping goals in one end and breaking up plays in the other.
