Really digging the play as of late. We're in a good spot now but will be tough enough to stay ahead of the Florida teams. Got faith though |

Why doesn't Boucher keep the Smith - JGP - Stone line together considering their recent success and last years success?
Hoffman - Turris - Ryan
Smith - JGP - Stone
Pyatt - Brassard - Lazar
Bailey - Kelly - Neil

The Sens should let Ryan double up on protective equipment, plop him in front of the net, and just rip it at him.
30+ goals here we come. |

Not going to happen. Why would LA take on an extra $2 million for a player just as useless?
I think if an area needs to be addressed its our back end. Our bottom 4 is just awful. Don't understand how Ceci and Phanuef played more minutes than Karl did last night? Those 2 are constantly getting buried together. - KarlOrBust
How the F*** does this team have Phaneuf at 7m ... and still have a crappy bottom 4... *sigh |

Don't come to this thread very often anymore.
Jared routinely writes a "woe is me" column on how everything is failing apart and it can only get worse.
Fans jump on to point out all inadequacies the team is struggling with.
Imagine how dark it would be if they had a losing record.
Shocked you get as many as 7 comments. There is nothing here really worth talking about.
Karlsson was phenomenal again last night and is playing the best hockey of his career. Hamburgler and Condon combined for a really nice effort.
Love Phaneuf's play when he was head to head against Tavares
Guy Boucher seems to have achieved full buy in on his system and they guys stayed faithful to it all weekend.
Ceci again logged the most minutes of any player. I think he is being showcased as the key piece in a huge deal (Colorado is ready to deal a major piece in exchange for a Dman)
I will check back in a couple of weeks to see if there is anything more interesting being talked about.
Just can't stand the whining. |

Nothing is being talked about because no one is here talking.
Its a cyclical thing. I don't know why the comments have dropped off so much, but i don't think it has anything to do with the blogging.
To be blunt, if you want more interesting topics, you might need to throw your two cents in more often.

What would you do when(if)Mac comes back?
Maybe slot him on the third line to start with Pageau and smith to start? Or would he bump Dzingel |

I'd put him on the 4th line in place of lazar or pyatt to start and see how he feels. Guy hasn't played in nearly 2 years, definitely will take time to get back up to speed. Maybe on 3rd line like you said......smith, pageau and MacArthur would be a pretty sick shutdown line that could still produce |

I agree with easing him into it. I think starting him on the third line would be most beneficial in that regard personaly. |

Here's what I'd like to see happen when MacArthur comes back:
Dzingel - Turris - Ryan
Hoffman - Brassard - Stone
MacArthur - Pageau - Lazar
Smith - Kelly - Pyatt/Neil

Lazar has zero points in 12 games. Why did they call him up again?
I'm still struggling to find a reason why he is on third line right now |

Plenty of players have "retired" with injuries and still collected their full salaries. Nobody will ever question his toughness. |

if only that were true of leaf fans..........you guys have lost so much in the last decade we'd hardly ever see you. |

at this point I don't think it's about toughness. there is a pretty clear link now between concussions and serious mental issues later in life. is playing a few more games of hockey worth what could possibly happen later?
the guy has a young family......if I were in his shoes I would have already hung up my skates. |

True, but this team has been winning games most of the season, which is when this appeared to begin. |

I don't want you to take any offence to this Jared, but I'll be honest. I know why the comments have dropped off.
Your blogs read like news paper articles. They are very matter-of-fact and to the point.
There isn't much to debate. You give a solid run down of how the games go but there's very little to no analysis or opinion. Without that, there isn't much to discuss.
People commented a lot on Yost's blogs cause he was the king of analysis (and it has to be tough to follow in his footsteps).
People comment a lot on Tanner's blogs because it's pretty much ALL opinion (and ridiculous ones at that).
At the end of the day, the question is: is a blogger's success determined by the number of comments? If you point to Yost, you'd say 'yes'. Point to Tanner, and it's a clear 'no'.
There's nothing wrong with Jared's style, but if we are going to get comments, it's going to have to rely on the commenters to start the debate.
In that vain, here's my point of the day: I think it would be absolutely ridiculous to move Z. Smith away from the top line right now. The guy has been the best Sens forward in the last two games, and there's clearly come chemistry between him and Stone. He does what Hoffman is unwilling to do: He goes into the corners and wins battles. Stone is too slow to get there, and Brassard isn't strong enough. Boucher would have to be an idiot to split those three up right now. They compliment each other perfectly.
I hate to say it, but move Hoff to the 3rd line. Maybe he can get Lazar going. |
