Todd, Dougie Hamilton played the least of any defender last night. And 4/6 the night before. And we wonder why there are rumors! Utilize this guy properly ffs.

The way this fan base scrutinize it's goaltending has to be unhealthy.

Wonder if it has to do with how much they relied on Kipper in previous years that it's just expected that the goalie has to be the best player night in and night out.

Just not how it works barring a very very few extremely lucky teams.

How the fan base scrutinizes is irrelevant. How the coach does is. Elliott had a meh game against Arizona. I can forgive the first one but the second my AA Midget goalie makes that save 9 times out of ten. Pro's (shouldn't) make those mistakes. I thought Johnson was ok last night but the team was flat. They had no jump and simply tried to keep their heads above water... Against an Arizona thats ok but not the Sharks.

When you have an average team, you rely on your goaltending. The (Kipper) Flames were very average with excellent goaltending. Yet I think our goaltending tandem is still better than most in the league, we just expected Elliott to be the #1 not Johnson...

I'm just curious who gets a contract offer... based on the play to date, Elliott wouldn't... (IMO)

I like your idea of playing Kulak with Brodie so he can go back to his off wing. He certainly seems more comfortable there.

I agree on Boums. Guy was paid to be doing a lot more than he has done this year.

Still lots of hockey tobplay this year and we are still on th thick of things.

Colin did warn us before we signed him too

He doesn't play with that same sense of urgency that he did a couple seasons ago (the kind that Hathaway plays with now). I suppose it could be tough to maintain that physical/all out style of play for a whole career. Hopefully we learn our lesson and don't sign a guy like Hathaway to a stupid extension.

There'll always be another Jooris, Hathaway, Bouma trying to break into the NHL. Probably better off just bringing in college free agents/promoting draft picks when it comes time to extending those "heart" guys in the future.

16 goals once isn't really an indication of anything. Anyone in the league can catch a few bounces and somehow end up with 15 goals in a season once.
