i dont think they'll actively go for last or finish there. They will win and go on a streak at some point. Just sell off the UFA's and any bad contracts if you can, see where the chips fall and go from there.

I was so pumped for the 2015 draft with all the picks we had to make, and then so bummed when Murray traded away #21, 25. To have had taken two quality players then and have them ready to go around now would have been awesome for our depth. But we got Lehner and Kane... so it's all good, right...

Absolutely. It was a real deep draft and they knew that. But Murray wanted NHL guys now and I guess to a point I can also understand that. But what he got for those picks sucks!

Not really. Love Duchene and Mackinnon. Landeskog is pretty good but he's not exactly a superstar. Their D as a whole is as bad as ours.

It's shocking because they've made the playoffs after bottoming out and rebuilding with top 3 picks, and now they're back at the bottom. This can happen to us if we're not careful and guys could want to jet to other cities. I think we can bottom out this year, grab one more top 3 pick, and then come into next year with hopefully Nylander, Guhle, and (God willing) Liljegren and shot for 10 years worth of playoff runs.

I'm just saying we're comparing landeskog and sam when it's apples and oranges one is a physical Beast 1 tries to be.

If Sam ever becomes close too landeskog then he was worth the 2nd overall pick right now he's not

Yes, nobody wants to rush prospects and ruin them long term. We need to remember our lesson from Gregorenko. But, I don't see Frasch, Bap, Bailey, or Carrier really becoming top 6 material either. They're good, fast, but mostly grinders... I think we have some Jamie McGinns in the making. Others here think much more highly of them, so I could be right, I could be wrong, we'll see. But from what I've seen, I see nothing that says we need to say "NO" when other teams come calling and offer good value in return.

I would love that. A 20 goal guy that can play anywhere in the lineup and doesn't take penalties. His career high PIM is 38 but that was in 59 games, last year he only had 33 in 84 games.

And if it's good value it doesn't really matter who the player is, anyone can be traded. If Winnipeg called up and said, "Hey we really need centers, so we'll give you Laine and Byfuglien for Eichel." I think they do that.
