He's following the exact same trajectory as Robbi Fabbri, who was selected 21st overall that year.

If you're trying to say you want more production from Sam, join the club as we would all love that.

If you're trying to base that on him being a number 2 pick, or the first forward taken in the draft, I have shown twice now where that is a dangerous thing to do.

Based on the player list I added in my first reply to you, it's clear there are drafts where the first forward taken is a true superstar, such as Crosby, Lecavalier, Tavares, McDavid, Stamkos, etc, but those are clear cut as far as I remember going into those drafts.

There are other drafts where it is known the first forward taken is not going ot be a superstar on the level of those above, and there are other drafts where the first forward taken is Chad Kilger, Patrick Stefan, or Nail Yakupov.

I feel like I've shown enough evidence that a number 2 overall pick is not a guarantee of a superstar, and especially not before their 4th to 5th season of play.

Do you compare everything in your life to what other people around you have? Because if you do, it explains why you don't seem to be a very positive person.

You can probably go back in every draft and find players picked later on that do the same or produce more than guys drafted ahead of them. It's a total crapshoot. Sam has been a solid player for us the last year and half and still has room for growth.

Stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. It'll drive you crazy.

Doesn't help that with all the injuries this year, Byslma has moved him around quite a bit.

Not to mention that a guy like Reinhart needs the D to be able to transition the puck out of their own end in order to really be able to showcase what he can do. God knows our D can't do that (save for Risto for the most part)

Ekblad had a rough start to the year this year. He seems to have straightened it out a bit.

Haven't heard much from Bennett this year. The only reason he seemed to get as much media attention as he did the last 2 years was because of injuries.

Draisaitl is having a good year. Have him on my Dynasty fantasy team. Producing at a very nice rate.

Reinhart is not the best player from his draft class, but Ristolainen is...in my opinion.

Far too early to tell that about Reinhart.

We won't know with him or any of those players from his draft class regarding what their true full potential is until the 2018-2019 season is well underway if history is any guide, which it usually is.

if murray knew he would land eichel and ror, he probably would have drafted draisaitl but that is neither here nor there

no chance he was drafting pastrnak, larkin, or ehlers at 2
