tyrod taylor was the bills quarterback because rex wanted him...how is that not valuing your coaches input when your coach has you bring in a player at the most important position on a football team? |

How did the GM not value his input? Lawson and Ragland scream Rex Ryan choices.
Rex wanted Taylor here.
$6 dollar tickets on Christmas eve for a team not making the playoffs really isnt a big deal.

This one is a catch-22 for the team. Because if they allowed him to play and he gets hurt, that forces them to pay out that contract. They may very well want to keep him, but want to be able to restructure so they're being cautious. People would be female doging if they were forced into that because of injury just like they're female doging about him not getting to play this week.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't. |

I am no Bills fan, I just dont see how it didn't work out. This was two of their better seasons in their drought. Realistically this is their best 3 year period in the drought. It takes time to build a team with the coaches right personal and philosophy. Perfect example is Jason Garrett and his three 8-8 seasons in Dallas.
Now they are just going to bring in a new coach, with a different system and direction. The Bills regressed yesterday.

That list isn't great, but if finding a QB was easy, there would be 32 good ones in the league. People point to Dak and Russell Wilson and say we could've had them. Sure, maybe, but I'm a firm believer a player's fate isn't the same in a different situation. There's no guarantee Wilson turns into Wilson if drafted by the Bills. If Dak doesn't have one of the greatest offensive lines in football, he might not be Dak on another team. You can win with Taylor and I want him here next year to prove it. If not, then we start over. I'm not saying we don't draft a QB this year to hedge our bet, but Taylor earned another year. Get David Lee the hell away from OBD. Taylor's Completion % went down after his arrival, just like Fitz's the last go round with Lee. I swear that Taylor's throwing mechanics changed from year one to this year too. He was precise on the deep ball last year.

I don't agree with this. Whaley has brought in a lot a talent. This is from a 3rd party POV (me).
His really only mistake was trading up for Watkins. He didn't draft EJ. It is pretty obvious he has never trusted EJ, brought in both Kolb and Kyle Orton during EJ's rookie year. |

you could be right...but fact is, rex's defense was a colossal failure and he was supposedly a defensive genius...whaley did a lot of work bringing in playmakers on offense thinking rex could take care of the d...it didn't work out |

If you aren't part of the solution you're part of the problem.
Whaley's part of the problem.
The team needs an enema.

I know. But this is the first time where the advanced stats support what we've been saying.
He's been a beast this year. I feel like at times last year he played on the timid side of things. This year he's just going out and killing it every night.
He seems to be a man on a mission. - HonkFortheGoose
On top of that, this is happening after he just signed his first big deal.
That is promising. |

Not that I loved Rex, because honestly, he was definitely not who I thought would be a good fit, but his overall system relies heavily on having high level play from the safety position, and Whaley did nothing to help in shoring up that very important position for him. The probability that Aaron Williams would make it through this year was probably very low, yet Whaley did nothing to address it. |

Sure, and they should, but is Alexander, the career special teams player, only staying if Rex is here? I find that hard to believe |
