Orca bay is no longer affiliated with the Canucks, therefore, we should probably move on from it. The orca served it's purpose, but we should really move on or move back depending on your taste. Stick in the Rink is by far my favorite. - Codes1087
I would be ok with tinkering the logo a bit, but this team needs to stick with one thing. I saw the other day that the Devils have only ever had 2 uniforms and never a 3rd jersey, thats impressive and Canucks should follow suit |

Bo + Kenins + Dorsett were more productive than Skille/Chaput/Gaunce.
Clutterbuck+Martin+Cizikas show that 4th line players can produce.
I think 4th lines don't necessarily need to be grinder lines, or minutes only eatin so that the other lines can rest. I think a good team can roll 4 lines and that 4 lines should be able to produce. Gaunce+Skille+Chaput have not been terrible, but I would like to see more. - Codes1087
I am totally with you on that. Really would love to see more of this type of roster upside tried for this team.
I would try a Burr Guance Skille line now. Put LE with Bo. Rodin with Sutter. Boucher with twins for shot. Give this a try A few games to see if scoring goes up. I don't see less D in this either.
But WD doesn't experiment or try new things unless forced to by injury. He's cautious and is coaching not to lose instead of trying to win. I get he feels his job is on the line. So he's comfortable playing guys he knows can play adequately defensively. |

That's funny. How can you score if you don't play? I don't know about them screamers I take the cerebral approach. We have a guy brought in to improve top 9 scoring. At some point, would like to see what he can do while Hansen is out and we have AHL injury call ups munching up those minutes without adequate production. - Nuck4U

I would say he is trying to build chemistry. Most players hate getting new linemates every few games trying to figure out each other's tendencies.
Every time a new kid gets put with the Sedins and the camera shows the bench, they are always talking. I am sure they appreciate focusing on what they have to do, rather than worrying about where someone else is going to be |

Fun fact for everyone. An Orca is in fact a Dolphin not a Whale. |

we more than surpassed that amount in one season. I just hope they can stick with one thing for the next decade or two to lower the ratio - WhiteLie
They had it right all along, should've just stuck with the stick/rink and the west coast colours. |

The knee injury was a freak accident in practice with a cut to the tendon. That takes typically a year to heal. He pushed himself to make the team. He's not a slacker. You won't know what you have in him unless played. But he's willing to earn it and stays patient. As a fan it's natural to ask when does he get a try to improve scoring with Hansen out. - Nuck4U
That's fine ask the right people, stop posting the same poop over and over and over again you are becoming seriously hated here.
If I am only reading 5 or 6 posts per page whats the point of coming here anymore. |

I find the criticisms of a guy like Chaput, as well as Vey and Etem before him, very funny when people give longer leashes to guys like Gaunce, only because they are Canuck draft picks. Gaunce has done nothing at the NHL level, he is not very effective in any role he has been put in IMO - WhiteLie
I disagree with the comparison at least of Vey and Etem.
Chaput and Gaunce are very similar except for age and stage of development.
Vey and Etem didn't toil away on the 4th line with AHLers in order to earn their icetime. They were given many opportunities with talented players.
I would of hoped that Gaunce had more to offer in the offensive zone but think he has been really good in his own end and transitioning the puck.
Gaunce (as does Skille to a lesser extent) has a very impressive GA60 compared to the whole team but in particular compared to Chaput and Dorsett or even Granlund.
To put it into perspective.
Gaunce is allowing 1.61 goals per 60 minutes and producing 1.21 goals per 60 minutes.
Granlund is allowing 3.18 goals per 60 minutes and producing 1.64 goals per 60.
He is only one of 3 players with a positive possession rates (on ice for more shot for than against) and generates shots at nearly the same rate as Granlund does.
I'm not saying Gaunce is better or as good as Granlund but line mates and ice time do make a difference.

My comparison is not really based on much, its just that I know that in the case of Vey, Etem, etc. were our own draft picks and were getting settled in the NHL at the age of 22-23-24 the perception of how good/bad he is would be different.
I say that because I catch myself doing it on occasion. Expectations are much higher when you acquire a young player, but if for example Gaunce doesnt start putting up points until hes 24, he will be given the slack until then |
