We are going to lose sbisa forsure |

There is no way Tampa trades Drouin AND a 1st for Tanev+Hansen.
I don't think Tanev+Hansen land you Drouin either... - Codes1087
I was hoping taking that bad filpula (maybe do callahan since its a longer worst deal) contract off their hands would add some extra value |

A trade idea that would save Spisa:
Tanev (or edler if we could somehow) + Hansen to TB for Druin, Filpula (1 more year of poopty contract), 1st (could be a decent one based on TB's play).
They get the top 4 d-man they need. Get rid of that bad filpula contract and add a good winger for playoff push.
We get a younger piece to add to the core + a pick and filpula for 1 more year. We save spisa! - canucksfan1944
I'll just copy and paste my response to your copy and pasted proposal:
Cool idea, but Drouin and Filppula are 3rd and 4th in team scoring (and thats including Drouin missing time for injury). If they are trying to ditch contracts and bodies in preparation for the expansion draft, they could do so without hurting their chances this season
And I will add, Drouin and Filppula will both do more for their playoff push than Hansen and Tanev possibly could |

Its not like Datsyuk where the player isn't playing at all and costing a team 6+ million a year. Filpula can still play. Bad Contract for a 1st is not going to happen.
Drouin is about the only player producing points right now for Tampa (apart from Kucherov). A happy Drouin (who wants to play for TB) is one who shouldn't be moved. |

Exactly right. This trade would ensure Tampa doesn't make the playoffs |

Ottawa may need a goalie, Andersons wife is quite sick, so maybe miller when we drop down in standings. I would take Lazar or Nick Paul back in return. - Reubenkincade
That would be awesome. Paul is better with exempt status on Vegas draft. Lazar would mean exposing Baer/Hansen. So what's Miller's motivation to waive for them? |

haha I couldn't find the original blog post I did it on so re-added it since I thought that blog post got taken down. Yah maybe, was reading they need a top 4 man and want to get rid of either filpula or callahan |

Honestly, if they really want a top 4 the only deal I could see is Brayden Point+Callahan for Tanev+Hansen and even then I think they value Point fairly high |

Craigs List. Interesting from #33 - 43 there are 6 centers. Maybe JB can work some magic there.

That looks favorable to go for a swing for the fences C in 2nd round while taking BPA whatever position in 1st round. |

Essentially losing Sbisa or Dorsett would be nice strictly for cap reasons. Sbisa has been playing some decent hockey lately so it would be much harder to lose him. Losing Granlund would be a loss, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over losing Gaunce. - Codes1087
Our cap is fine. |

I suggested a similar offer that was shot down but i do agree.
Edler preferably but not likely. |

Cannucks have to measure any trade with protective status for Vegas. Adding two for one forwards means losing Baertchi or one of the forwards they traded for which is loss plus. Also, that means Sbisa gets protected making the forwards more attractive to be picked. Plus moving Tanev for so little is a waste of an asset and depth. |

I don't think we need to worry too much about cap unless we are hoping to dip into free-agency |

Nice idea. But not practical. It makes little difference to them as they will lose a froward or goalie to Vegas and cap situation solved. Plus for playoff push they wouldn't do addition by subtraction of one of their best offensive players. |

Miller gets a playoff run. Maybe it is Markstrom if they are looking at resigning Miller? I would prefer Paul as well, we need some more size in the system. |

Feel free to ask any Tampa fan what they would trade Drouin for, it wont be Tanev+Hansen |

That deal has an exempt forward in it, and you trade one protected for another, so the Vegas side would be fine as you could then protect Sbisa. But you are right, I dont think the haul is worth Tanev given the contract coming back. I just dont see Tampa giving up a whole lot to acquire him either |

Point is no slouch of a prospect, a dynamic foward despite his size. Callahan is the contract they want to ditch, he is bottom 6 with a high cap hit and longer term. Filppula still has some game left and is less injury prone.
That all being said, I agree it shouldnt be the deal but it all depends on how they value their own. I think they are very high on Point and his ELC and would be reluctant to give him up. Previous reports also had Tampa asking Drouin for Horvat+ last season, so we know that we will not be acquiring him... |

Horvat+ is a pipe dream for TBL.
Idc what the askng price was only what happens does. |
