It means the perception they're doing better this year is wrong and that there's still a high likelihood they'll be in a lottery position.

But, some young players have taken a step forward.

- LeftCoaster

That is not correct. They are doing better than the 2nd half of last year. They are improved. Or do you see a nose dive in their immediate future?

Do they have the depth to cope with injuries?

Probably not. Although, we have survived massive injuries to the D so far. I don't think we make the playoffs but I also don't see a crash like last season.

I don't know why people are in such a hurry to add guys in their mid-20's when this whole rebuild has really only begun.

The injuries and how WD deals with them will be the difference between picking top 14 or top 7

True i dont want to lose Sbisa either, and your right i could see kane doing that but would be nice to have on the team.

I though you could trade injured players, isnt that how buffalo got kane in the first place?

The idiot Shannon at Hockey Central saying that there is a Corrado watch going on in Vancouver because the team and fans want to get him back on the waiver wire... He's claiming that he is still popular with the fans here.

I think trading Hutton or Sbisa right now would be a mistake unless the return is a massive win. Biega at the TDL and Edler in the offseason make much more sense.

This doesn't make any sense whatsoever?

Why are you comparing them to the 2nd half of last year? Haven't you said that they tanked during the 2nd half of last year?

The whole point in comparing them at the 48/49 game mark is that they are similar situation. Trying to make the playoffs.

Yes I can certainly see a nose dive in their future. They have won more games recently but they are still playing some horrible hockey.

I just don't think the solution is to rob Peter to pay Paul. One nice thing about having young forwards come in that can contribute is their cost vs the cap. I don't think trading for guys making $6 million with a bunch of question marks is the answer.

Sbisa makes sense IMO because we will lose him at the expansion draft and he is currently playing his best hockey. Now or soon is exactly when you move guys like him.... for anything and that has nothing to do with Sbisa hate, its just, wait for it.......good asset management.

Not likely...on pace for 86 pts I don't think that's gonna change much.

How would you feel about an Oil/Flames first round matchup? Possible?

- LordHumungous

I don't think it's possible ...too many things would have to happen ... ducks and sharks look like a good bet to be 1-2 ...at this point both the flames and oilers are just hoping to get in

I'm torn as much like Canucks and flames a series between oil and flames would be stressful ...but probably good to watch ...but I'd prefer to play the sharks or a central team honestly
