Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks recall Jordan Subban to fill seventh defenseman slot As they prepare for their final home game before the All-Star Break on Friday, the Vancouver Canucks have re-assigned defenseman Andrey Pedan to the Utica Comets and recalled Jordan Subban in his place.

"questions remain about Subban's two-way play"

Tells me WD won't play him unless he absolutely has to, so why call him up, and not anyone else?

JB willing to trade a D?

Maybe these two go hand in hand? #Showcase

Happy that Subban got called up but it would be annoying to see him up for a while and not get to play at all considering he could be lighting it up in the AHL instead.

I really hope Henrik scores tomorrow

Maybe move Megna back on the Sedin line and he might get point number 1004 by the end of the game.

Thanks Carol. Looks like Pedan's waiver exempt days were running out. PL not cleared yet. Beiga has four more games for Vegas. Barring injury or illness Subban will probably warm the seat of the press box.

1st it was Rodin then Boucher now Subban.
He will play if forced into the lineup only.

Hmmm....maybe.

I feel like the injuries would make it tough to trade a defenseman right now. Not sure why JB would bring it up except he's probably getting calls on everybody from Tanev to Tryamkin...

I agree.

Also, looking for EG to become more than he is at this point when he's already 25 with over 300 NHL games under his belt is asking a lot.

EG said himself on recent HNIC interview that he is still young and has a lot to learn. Pointing out he may be helping those guys a little green to NHL with being a pro but he has a lot more to learn and improve in his game. HE believes he has more to offer.

I read it as JB is listening to tire kickers.
Letang went down & others have been shopping for D since the offseason.
I figure as more D get injured the trade market will heat up.

Our young D/ prospects w a shot:

OJ
stetcher
Tree
EG
Hutton
subban
Neil
Olson
brisbouis

Forwards:
Boeser
Horvat
bae
JV
Lockwood
Gaudette

I'm also excluding Tanev. Our forward depth is horrendous. Don't draft a D unless it's a clear cut BPA

I, like a lot of people, am just interested in seeing these guys play a bit to see what they're made of. I have no idea why you would be so negative about us wanting to see players we're interested in playing some games rather than Chaput or Megna....

The fact he would bring that up is perplexing unless he's open for business.

JB talking about our Dmen mentioned Tree, Gudbranson, OJ, and Stecher. Could be Hutton or Tanev that he's considering moving though I really hope not

I'm sure he's been getting calls on Tanev for the last 2 and a half years so I'm not too worried yet

That's half of a quote he said he wouldn't trade futures for immediate help. He is always open for hockey trades [url]
