That's 2/3 of a 2nd line and 2/3 of a 3rd line for the next few years. Not exactly 'set' in my books. - Marwood
Yup, if that. I'm not sure Baer, Granlund or even Sutter will be relevant when the nucks are competitive again. |

Was Tkachuk bpa? Depends who you ask. - CanuckDon
Well I guess. Like if he's a parasite
But let's just say that the first four guys taken were the best forwards. So getting the best D was a win at that point. Not just a need.
So if they get a goal scorer this draft it may be more need then BPA. Who knows....these kids are so unpredictable in this draft |

But he did possess attributes the canucks were looking for. He was a viable option. |

We always talk about trading from a position of strength but seldom do the things to follow it up.
Here is an example . Our RHD right now are Stecher Tanev Gudbrandson Tryamkin Subban and Biega . If We draft Foote on RHD with our first pick we have more than enough strength then on RHD.Foote would be an upgrade on most of the existing in five years . Not only do we upgrade but we can trade a player with value that can get a very good return.
Say then you traded and put together a package for Landeskog by trading Tanev.
You still have Stecher Tryamkin Gudbrandson left as Foote develops.
If you drafted a forward you fill a hole. You do one thing only. If you tried to trade Sven Granlund or Hansen your return would not be much at all. That is trading from a place of weakness.
This is why I say Draft a D for the upgrade and trade value of the person you move out. - VANTEL

Around 92 to 96 things got way out of control for me in Surrey. Not that things were not crazy in East Van and Toronto but I was a teenager then... poop got real in my 20's...lol. Cleaned house on the people I associated with about 98. Left the lower mainland 2000...

Worth a shot while his value has tanked. I see an awesome 3rd line solid second line player. Am I out of line to try to snag him?

Duclair has suffered with AZ futility. But snagging him would be close to cost as trying to get JV. Unless they like Sbisa |

They are. I spent two weeks watching them closely here in RD last year at Mem. Cup. and I can say Juolevi is a great pick. If CLB hadn't of f**cked up the draft by taking Dubois early I know for a fact the Oilers were looking hard at Juolevi. Sure we should have had Laine and all that but Juolevi is gonna be great for us IMO. |

Nobody will be moved on D. I think they will add at the TDL and try for that last playoff spot. - bloatedmosquito

Who? They were both reasonable picks for us. But we were desperate for D as we didn't know how Tree and Stetcher would work out |

In my humble opinion YES!!!
Chucky is sooooooo dreamy!
You guys have a thing for the Euro's. I get it. Nice hair and good accents. But they just don't know how to make plays in the dirty areas! |

Nothing is set but something is built for the top 9. These guys are young and in 3-5 years still in their prime. That's relevant for depth. Look at Hansen how he became relevant. Or Kesler before him when not much was thought of both beyond bottom 6.
The players you mentioned have a great attitude and work ethic with their skills. So they will compete. Add in more high end players like Bo, BB, OJ and you got a good group. Next couple drafts bring in the new talent guys that push Nucks over the hump of relevant competitiveness. |

Did you see the list ? I think it includes players like Laine Mathews and other prospects .
I don't care where he ranks them. Winnipeg are behind us and Toronto are not much better.
When one of them win the cup then I might give a sh1t |

7th ranked D-man for Juolevi which is a slap in the face.
