Yeah he's definitely nothing special but isn't a horrible option when he's limited to a bottom pairing role. Definitely could be improved though, maybe give Siemens or another prospect a shot / sign a bottom pairing FA.

Wrong system for the players we have but you think at one point or another this team could play some decent hockey. It's getting a little ridiculous, you think as pros they would be able to adapt or at the very least our core guys could take over and dominate a few games landing us the win.

Just hard to wrap my head around how bad this team actually is. Will always be behind the Avs but you start to wonder what's really going on? This was a chance to be a good year for us and I remember most of us on here started the season happy with our depth we brought in

Well I mean the Oilers gave up Hall for Larsson so I feel like Gabe for Ekholm would be a pretty decent return. If you compare Ekholm with Josi, Ekholm has a better Corsi, he's a + player compared to Josi who's a -, and Ekholm only has 6 pts less than Josi. Plus they're the same age. So I feel Ekholm would certainly be a good fit, and a huge improvement on our current D situation. I guess we could always hope to sign Shattenkirk in FA but you know that's going to come with a hefty price tag, and even Shattenkirk was a -14 last year, and is currently a -13 this season, and EKholm had the exact same point total as Shattenkirk last season. So to me EKholm may be a #3/4 Dman on a stacked D core in Nashville, but he would be a top pairing guy on most other teams.

As far as giving those picks up Drouin, I'd be willing to do that. Drouin and Mack have an amazing chemistry, not to mention look at the numbers Drouin is putting up this year. Nieto in the top 6 obviously isn't ideal, but until some of our prospects develop we don't have many options, besides signing another FA. Also the bottom 6 doesn't look that bad, certainly looks better than what it is right now in my opinion. I think a top 4 D of Johnson, Barrie, Ekholm, Zadorov looks pretty good, especially if Zads continues to develop.
