Sabres had scouts at a lot of Kings games and LA has some cap space to work with ($5m deadline space which could be $11m with ltir.). I don't see them able to protect all their dmen come the expansion draft, so it seems they may be a good team to look at for a trade. Don't know if they would be willing to trade Muzzin or Martinez or what it would take. They have 5 lefties and only 2 righties with Gilbert being sent down.
Also, wouldn't be surprised to see Vanek traded to the Hawks.

I would like Forbort. I don't think Lombardi is gonna move either Muzzin or Martinez. He will protect those two in the expansion draft which could lead to a Forbort trade.

You realize at the time Risto McCabe pysyk and zadorov had jumped him in the organizations Depth chart. We traded a position of strength and a player that at the time was falling out of place for a nhl spot. Looking back its easy to say we lost it but remember he still not a top 4 minute guy and has 3 points, This team needs a #2/3 d man NOT more bottom pair guys

Yeah,
McNabb is a 3rd pair defenseman
But he's a pretty good one
Good enough that he gets moved up to play on the top pair with Doughtyfrom time to time

I had McNabb-Pysyk anchoring a 3rd pair that could've been one of the best in the league

But that's all hindsight
I'm hoping we can use Fasching to get a solid defenseman back
