To this day that's the trade that I like the least. There is a LARGE chance that is biased by rose colored glasses on McNabb, I mean we don't know what Fasching will turn into yet. But I always felt McNabb could've been a solid contributor on this team on the back end.

You realize at the time Risto McCabe pysyk and zadorov had jumped him in the organizations Depth chart. We traded a position of strength and a player that at the time was falling out of place for a nhl spot. Looking back its easy to say we lost it but remember he still not a top 4 minute guy and has 3 points, This team needs a #2/3 d man NOT more bottom pair guys

You realize that was also at a time where we had like 17 draft picks in 2 years. Only so many contracts (50). Win some, lose some. Same with the lehner deal. 1st is a lot but you got a guy 4 years younger than tablot and lack and with a better save % than martin jones who ALSO went for a first.... look at the blue jackets last year..injuries are a big deal excuses or not. Stay the course and hunt for that #2/3 D man in the off season.

I think you can flip kane up and foligno down and get similar results from 3rd line and kane may help the other line

Every single one of those players/contracts except kulikov can be replaced in Free Agency with 0 stress. You stay healthy and land a #2-3 d man (which is not easy to get and what we should debate about) you see a new team from the start
