Megna moving up the depth charts... yuck
I understand not over using Boucher but how many chances is WD going to give Megna to prove he doesn't really even belong in the NHL...

What's worse?

A coach that has a golden child that stays in the lineup regardless of play (WD with Vey, Megna) or a coach that puts people in the dog house (Torts with Hansen) and doesn't give them a chance.

Depends on the player personnel apparently, CBJ is thriving under Torts "work or you're in the doghouse" approach. I think WD is getting a pretty solid effort out these guys, deserves some of the credit for that (as does the Sedins/Bo). WD seems to reward guys that work hard on their 200 foot game, say what you want about Magma and Vey- they play well in their own end. Magma will not be a point producer, but all his stats suggest putting him in the top6 doesn't hurt the matchup either. I think this is the rationale, whether it's any good is totally up for debate.

Horvat plays 20 - 22 minutes... we win.

As an eternal optimist, it pains me to say that I too am tiring of the Sedin's play this year.

Usually in scoring slumps in the past, they at least get chances and/or other's step up to fill in...this year...not so much.

I agree, time to split them up and push the younger players like Bo into action.

Nah, I think most would be thrilled if they were close to last year's numbers. Age may slow them down but it should not make them any less smart and even I know that standing still at any time on the PP, unless you are blocking the goalie is wrong.

There really is no scenario in place where tonight's game is 'winnable'.

It makes me angry to think of teams being able to get another 1OA in the last 5 or 6 years. They really need to fix that. Not eligible for 1 OA in the lottery within 5 years from the time you last won it or something along those lines. EDM has gone this, Avalanche are about to do it, it has to stop.

Agree something should be done, maybe even expand that to be 2 top 3 picks in a 5.year period. As long as Bettman's darling team, Arizona, remains eternally in the hunt, that will not change.

It has changed significantly. I doubt we will see teams get as many 1OA as EDM in a short period again.

It is much more fair now in the way it works, and I guarantee fans of this team will be female doging how the rules don't make it easy enough for the Canucks to get a top 3 pick soon.

I agree they have made strides, but EDM still won McDavid. Could you imagine where they would be without him right now, and say with Eichel? They wouldn't be the same. I never got rewarded with new Roller Blades as a kid for failing Math... Why hell should we even give the opportunity for a bad franchise to continually get rewarded for being sh*tty. Like I said, they have made strides to try and avoid it, but put a block on teams from being able to draft 1OA if they have in the last 5 or 6 years, and it would make things a little more fair.
