What are you saying here? - Deuce81
Rex Ryan is about the only coach in the NFL in the past 15 years who's employed a strictly run-first offense that any running back, literally every running back he's ever had, has been able to thrive in. He's managed to make it work, in spite of himself, too. |

Wow, this is hilarious. I totally believe it, too.
Praise his accomplishments on the field, great. He was a good player. But he's done more harm for this community than good and I was saying the level of WORSHIP is sickening.
He's one of thousands of athletes who have justified being a POS for most of their life by "finding the lord" later in life. - BeadyEyedDouche
Fame does do that to a good number of people. When the spotlight goes away, a lot of them end up miserable, until they find something else to look forward to. |

Jim Kelly missed the kick against the Giants - sbroads24
For what its worth, Thurman Thomas has been asked several times why the Bills lost that game and his response 60% of the time, every time is "Jim was trying to be the man."

Scott Norwood wasn't even a mediocre kicker THEN. He never made a kick passed 45 yards, IIrc.
If anything the helicopter would have helped him LMAO. |

My main point wasn't even really about the running game. I'm saying that Brady neither has nor requires an offensive line made of pro bowlers. The ball is out of his hands in two seconds most of the time. Right on the money. Even the worst line in this league can give you two seconds. |

He's also not exactly the nicest person if you run into him somewhere. He used to come into the retail store I worked in years ago and would take the pen after he signed the credit card slip (this was like 12 years ago before everything was super electronic). If you asked him for it back, he'd tell you no because he didn't want you selling it on Ebay.
Doesn't mean he hasn't done a lot for the community, but he's not exactly a nice man either. - HonkFortheGoose
Pierre Turgeon was a special kind of douche bag also... My sister used to wait tables and he and a few Sabres would frequent the restaurant. She said he was a total piece of dog feces. Also said the other Sabres would apologize to her as they left. |

We were a makeable field goal away from a SB win. That's not on Kelly, however I agree that he was slightly over rated.
Marino, Favre, Elway, were superior |

Of that list, the only players that you could argue that they were better than their peers even in their given time were Bruce Smith and Hasek. I'm not saying definitively that Smith was better than Reggie White or that Hasek was better than Roy or Brodeur, but you could make the argument. The rest had players that were better than they were. - buffalofan19
Thurman Thomas has a MVP I would say he was the best all purpose back ever until Marshal Faulk came around
Jim Kelly does not he never deserved one
Bruce Smith does not but defensive players never win
Hasek has 2 |

How do you figure? Johnson and Beauchemin both have NMCs, and I don't think they'll protect Zadorov over Barrie. I would say it's close to 80% chance of getting exposed.
My point was we really didn't give up much, if all 4 have a "more than likely" chance of being exposed. - Mentalorgasm5
you are crazy, you think Zads is going to be exposed, even a slight chance. Get out here with that crap. He is their future and is coming along nicely even if there are people in Sabre nation who think he is a complete bust bc he doesnt score.
They will go 8 skaters if beauch doesnt waive his NMC. Thats why they claimed Barberio, either way they are set for the minimum exposure when going to protect 4 dmen if they are unable to move Beauchemin which they are trying to do |

Except he regularly stands in the pocket for up to 10 seconds untouched. You don't need an OL full of pro-bowlers, you need an OL that performs as one entity or unit. Create a pocket for the QB. That's it. |

45 yarders in 1991 were not common makes
Kelly called his own plays and Thurmas had 135 yards on 15 rushes...why did he only rush 15 times? That's on Kelly |

What he was trying to say was that for the entire game, Jim would audible out of plays, either run or pass, that were going to Thurman, despite the defense not showing him anything, and then proceed to run it himself or throw it to a covered guy.
Basically that Jim wanted to win and be MVP and had he just stuck to the gameplan, they wouldn't have been in that situation to begin with, which a lot of people agree with after almost 30 years of watching the footage of the game.

They still made them. Norwood was 6 for 9 from 40+ that year, and that's kicking in Buffalo. His long was 48.
He literally missed by 2 feet. |

I have a really hard time blaming our QB for putting us in position to potentially win a game.
That's like blaming Rob Johnson for the Music City miracle. |

A QB that calls his own plays that didn't feed the rock to the best player on the team.
Also Thurman by himself got 40 yards on that final drive |

Dude, which is why it was baffling that Kelly kept audibling out of run plays and throwing it to a guy who kept dropping the ball. |

15...
that's the amount of carries Thurman was given...averaging 9 yards a carry...
You will never not convince me that Kelly's ego got in the way of them winning that game |
