The handful of times I've ever gotten them from there it was like the chicken fingers were cooked easily an hour or more before they opened the arena up and placed under warming lights. They were barely warm and rubbery as poop. The fries were also not what I would consider "warm" - HonkFortheGoose
Save a lot bag of fingers are the best . Ive tried many different brands. |

For 15 you can make 3lbs of fingers and 1lb of fries - cabin
You would be shocked to see prices at some MLB stadiums. Petco park in SD, a hamburger $15-20. Citifield in NY was worse |

No, it has nothing to do with that. Pham actually was asked about it recently. They lowered the temp of the building in order to help with the quality of the ice. Nevermind the fact that fans now have to wear a snowsuit in order to not freeze to death.
I'm not one of those people that generally complain they're cold all the time. In fact, my body does a pretty damn good job of regulating itself in that regard. So if I'm saying it's cold in there, it's freaking cold.
I get that it's an ice rink and it's not going to be super warm, but boots, jeans, a tshirt and a hoodie should be plenty of clothing for me not to feel like I'm going to suffer from hypothermia. It's not like I'm trying to sit there in shorts and sandals. |

Honestly though, the food at 716 isn't anything to write home about either. I don't hate it, but it's kind of overpriced for what it is.
The beef on weck egg rolls are the only thing I've had from there that I feel is actually really good, but you pay like $8 for 3 of them (which they cut in half to make it look like there's 6). |

It's definitely a fine line between customers feeling comfortable and the conditions being best foe the players, but I'll take being cold amd having to wear more layers if it means top quality ice. |

Feels like food is overpriced at 98% of places, especially for the quality of food being served.
That said, I was lucky to find two good places in Orlando at resorts. |

Semi-related: By modern stadium standards, KBC (FNC, HSBC Arena etc.) is at least middle aged. I'm pretty sure the Braves moved out of a stadium that is actually younger. So now we have the Harbourcenter attached to the arena, will it be a situation where we just constantly upgrade it like MSG? The front isn't bad to look at, but the back, sides and roof are hideous. At some point i'm sure the NHL is going to pressure the Pegulas to do major renovations or push for a new arena.
Which reminds me, most teams are rewarded with an all-star game for building a new arena. Buffalo never was |

In general, you're probably right. But overall, I don't mind paying a decent amount for a meal so long as the quality is good.
Going out to eat in general isn't cheap, that's for sure. |

I don't think the way our arena looks is all that bad. My issue with it is something that won't be able to be corrected by renovating though. The corridors, especially in the upper level, are WAY too narrow. It's impossible to get from one end of the arena to the other during intermissions because of the overall design. The concessions are in those narrow stretches and between the amount of people trying to move around plus the people in line to get a snack/beverage there's just nowhere to go. It's brutal.
It's not as bad in the 100 level, but some areas do get a bit crowded there as well. It's something that I've noticed a lot as I've traveled to different cities and have attended games. Columbus's arena is way better than ours, and was only built a few years later. |

Agreed. I think a lot of it has to do with the budget for the project. It was built as a highly functional, but low-frills Arena. The price tag was about $150 mil if memory serves. If Roch ever builds a new 10-11K seat arena, I wonder if the NHL would allow the Sabres to play there for a year while KBC is demolished and a new one built on site. Obviously we're talking 15 years down the road

From Ek's post:
On Evander Kane...
Kane has been scouted by many teams this year and there is an obvious reluctance...A few sources of mine had tied him to Montreal, but one main source told me Therrien would never allow it...However, there may be another look now that Julien is at the helm...
Would we be able to pry out Galchenyuk for Kane & Gio?
Would that even be worth it? |
