While I would love to get Shattenkirk, it better not be for a ridiculous price. Like 1 of our top 9 forwards. - mdw7413
as much as I want Shatty, I agree, no top 9 forward for a rental |

Tough deal to make with them sure they would want d prospect and since they are not out of playoffs by any means they would most likely want something to help them now. But they would have to move him I would imagine losing Brower and Backes for nothing wasnt good. |

If there was no expansion draft, or Staal / Girardi NMC's, then Shatty would have been a Ranger by now. Too much handcuffing with this draft and contracts. |

Yeah, I don't know. Have there been any reports what the Blues might actually want? |

Not that I've seen, but they are crazy deep on the blue line. My guess is that they would want help up front. Maybe someone to help get Perry and Getzlaf going. |

Just wonder at this pt if Tyutin is any better then klein, or Girardi even and does nothing to help power play rather have Shattenkirk or Wideman but doubt Calgary moves him. |

Whoa! Got my wires crossed on that one! I was just talking to someone in the office about how much it would take for Shatty and that maybe trying to get one of the Ducks young Dmen would be a viable second choice. Didn't even notice my mistake!!
Not having a good day on the boards here! |

I think in acquiring a right defensemen, the question that the Rangers have to ask is whether the guy they are acquiring is a better option than Kevin Klein, in that I just don't see Holden or Girardi coming out of the lineup.
Otherwise, you are just making a trade for defensive depth, which is fine, but really isn't a big splash.
I like Tyutin, I just don't think that at this point of his career he is better option than Klein.

Pitt lost Daley again down to 3 reg dman now one of them being Letang who's very injury prone . Can definitely see them landing Shattenkirk or some other guy Rangers might want. |

Klein goes back i think in any deal, helps STL fill that roster spot they lose. Klein as 6th defensemen is servicable, especially if you can shelter him. we need a top 2 guy, STL doesnt.
I think a deal like the following may get it done: 2017 1st, 2018 2nd, Klein, Graves.
I think i would do that. adding Graves in makes it harder to swallow, but i think this is a pretty good deal for both teams. STL gets a decent player to help in playoffs and 2 picks and a prospect. |

over Clendening - yes. if we can get him for cheap, i wouldnt mind the depth, may challenge Klein or if another Dman has a bad game. good character playoff guy. |

Maatta to go to LTIR, clearing the way to acquire a big salaried player. |
