When you're a Canadian team and top players will only go to New York, Boston, Tampa and California, whatca gonna do? No other way to get the star players (unless you somehow become the only team in NHL history to constantly draft the best players in the draft from round 2 onwards).

Agreed. Until they make the salary cap net of taxes, it's an uneven playing field. A Canadian team isn't winning the cup anytime soon.
