Agreed. Until they make the salary cap net of taxes, it's an uneven playing field. A Canadian team isn't winning the cup anytime soon.

That could be true but doing a breakdown of each team would tell a better story.

The Habs r a 1 trick pony with everything dependent on Price.
Years of not fnding the offense to support him has been a problem.

The Leafs finally tore it down for a restart & it remains to be seen where it leads.

The Jets simply accumulate top prospects but cannot figure it out.

The Oilers well McDavid has turned their fortunes around from hoarding 1OA's.

The Flames still need a TRUE starting goalie.

The Canucks r simply a mess.

The Sens somehow get more mileage & results with a cap budget.
They do more with less & get my nod as an organization who wins the sweepstakes of which Canadian team achieves or even overachieves.

I have seen a few comments about Hutton lately, I don't mind his game at all. I would look at keeping him and trading a guy who is getting older

Any trade has to make sense vs trading just to trade IMO
The TDL is not the end all be all either.
