That would cave in the defence for the next season, if not two. He has his warts, but no other LH dman on the club is ready to handle top pairing minutes. It would be a huge disservice to Hutton's development if they did that. Same goes for Tanev on the right side. - Lindenis#1
Did someone say cave in the defense for next two seasons?

Its nice though to have enough quantity that you can afford a miss versus all the years on "Well, we don't have much choice but to pray that this guy makes it and makes it big" |

Personally I want to see Beoser. - thundachunk
I have a feeling Boeser will play in Utica on a try out. This dodges him burning a year on the ELC.

And it'd probably be better than he goes straight to the AHL and doesn't have to deal with media/fans next year hyping him in the starting lineup because of 3 NHL games. College to pros is a huge step. Doesn't hurt to have him take a bit inbetween. |

They need to win. Need them vs the Sens in the playoffs and then Burrows scoring the winner to knock them out. |

I think Granlund is better than Baerstchi, bigger body more durable. Not as talented but gives you more. Still tweeners. - LeftCoaster
Granlund will break 20g if healthy I'm sure. He's been improving the entire time we traded for him. I'm not dismissing it as not a good trade. Keep us updated on Shink if you can.

I am pleased with the 2 deals so far.
I thought Hansen and Burr would net a 2nd and 3rd by the TDL and we ended up with a former 1st/2nd round prospect (plus conditional 4th).
I think that's excellent value.
Plus we protected ourselves for the e-draft.
i also think having prospects is better than picks in that they are that much more scouted and that much more likely to make it to the bigs.

Yup for sure! That's rebuilding, pick often and increase your odds of hitting on one of them. |

Why wouldn't he want to burn a year? The situations aren't identical, but much like Tryamkin, Boeser has the ability to leverage himself into the NHL, or at least to start the clock ticking on his ELC. |

I'd love to see a bunch of vets on one year deals next year to fill out some depth and then move them for an ass load for mid rounders. |

Benning certainly seems to know what he's doing with mid round picks. He did that way back when in Buffalo as head scout . |
