Hansen is more of a Carter than Vrbata. Vrbata didnt have a career year with the twins, Hansen did.

Vrbata is $1m this year, better cap hit for the production... $5m is irrelevant now

Also how do you know Hansen understands the playoffs better than him? Both have 18 career playoff points but Vrbata did it in 42 games, to Jannicks 64. I'd be willing to bet Vrbata still has more playoff minutes played than Hansen...

Yeah, and one is as soft as rainbow carebear, the other is a pain to play against and can be a pest around the net.

Vrbata will disappear on any team with depth. Those point he got in the PO's was when he was on the top Coyotes line. Nobody want or needs him for that.

Most PO teams are looking for the gritty guy they can plug into all lines up and down the roster.....Hansen.

My understanding is Jannik Hansen will not accept a trade to the Canadiens. Perhaps another eastern market, but not the Habs.

Tis true, but doesn't change much in sense of who's value is higher too much. maximum 1 mill against the cap next year is not very significant.

It's not even very close, Hansen has essentially been productive offensively in one very ideal circumstance of playing with the Sedin's, has not been productive this year. Vrbata on the other hand has been productive a number of times, with a number of different linemates/deployment, including being quite a bit more productive than Hansen this year. The entire argument seems to hing on the one bad season he had with Vancouver last year, as the playoffs Vrbata has been more productive than Hansen as well.
