Sharks with Marleau, BigJoe and to a lesser extent Burns (given how hot he is this year) are in win-now mode.
Time to cash in and take a run.
Just like Wsh.

Would not be surprised to see Wash-SJS SCF.

Washington has to be the favourites at this point. Course you never know, they choke in the 2nd round year after year, plus PIT has the experience. SJ and Minny are the only western teams I see making the final

I just hope the Jimbo doesn't spend all his cap space this summer. Would love to see the team take a few problem contracts and add some good pieces for doing it. Rangers, Caps, Kings, Bolts all could use someone doing them a favour on a hefty contract.

I don't expect any cap space used other than for RFA's.
Bad contracts r the least of my concern going into this next draft.
A real good piece has to come our way if eating a contract.

Its possible. Oprik only has 2 seasons left. If you get something good from the Caps, you make that trade, even if he just replaces Sbisa. Same for guys like Filpula, Gaborik, Klein, Coburn.

For the right price you could take any of those guys and turn them around at some point into another asset.

Even might make sense to see if Columbus needs someone to take on Hartnell or J Johnson.

Canucks should do Bridge deal with Bo . They will move a D and should do Filpula and a 2nd

I am pleased with the 2 deals so far.
I thought Hansen and Burr would net a 2nd and 3rd by the TDL and we ended up with a former 1st/2nd round prospect (plus conditional 4th).
I think that's excellent value.

Plus we protected ourselves for the e-draft.

i also think having prospects is better than picks in that they are that much more scouted and that much more likely to make it to the bigs.

Absolutely... these were good all around trades for those reasons

Isles are quietly working their way up the standings. Wouldn't be surprised to see them or FLA take the wildcard rather than TO
- NorthNuck

Yes and look for all three to buy by TDL in some capacity.

JB overpays for what he wants, Bo shouldn't be in too much of a rush he is gonna get paid.

I'd rather they look long term. Like a Bjugstad (probably a little too cheap) to Trochek level contract.

Would rather that than a 3.5 per @ 2 years and then have to dish out like a 6-7 mil contract.

How bad was it to resign Burrows to TWO years?

You could probably draft a Bjugstadt with the second you get back

Any 35+ contract is a disaster especially for more than one year.
