Could easily see a "bust" prospect swap if Benning can get over the sentimentality of it being his guy.

Duclair - VANTEL
I feel like Jimbo would take the center if he were offered over another winger. And I doubt that another natural LW is really high on his priority list. |

I'm in no rush to trade Edler when he has term on his deal. Need him to take the tough minutes so it doesn't destroy Hutton or Tryamkin and lets Juolevi get some AHL reps in before playing in the NHL.
Same for Tanev. Even if you're tanking, you don't want to force Stecher into playing top comp every night until you're more confident he can handle it. Gudbranson can't replace what Tanev does and you don't get a competent replacement in FA without some absurd 6+ offer to a guy who should make 3.5. |

They could have him play in Utica and burn a year, couldn't they? - CubanBuffet
They could, but it makes no sense when there is a loop hole to avoid burning the year. He signs a try out contract for the rest of the season instead of his ELC.
They can't sign him, play him on the Canucks and send him down to Utica after. That ship has sailed.

If I even bring A&W into my vehicle, the smell of rotten slaughterhouse floor scrapings they make their patties with sets into the upholstery and it takes 3 or 4 days to get out. Even worse, an A&W fart gets trapped in the drivers seat and for the next week, everytime you sit down, the seat releases it's own gagger of a botulism fart. Driving with a A&W fart in the vehicle is bad enough to give you a fake tan... |

Losing the two are hard. Fan favorites but we need to move on - VANTEL
Hanson had to be moved or be taken by LV for squat, so it was a good decision.
Id say sbisa is the obvious trade chip since he's in the same LV situation.
Not so sure miller will have that much interest. |

Nah, I think it can happen any time now. "Going for it" next year just puts this team back in the same spot it was last summer and the summer before.
The Twins aren't dumb. They know where the team is, and its better to embrace that than pretend they're going to make the playoffs with PP specialist Jason Megna.
Tbh, it wouldn't shock me if the Twins are traded before free agency, depending on what happens at the draft. It would surprise me, but not shock levels. Nashville needs a second line. Retain some salary and you could make it work in Montreal where they don't have a second line either. - Lindenis#1
you never know, maybe these trades are the shakeup (and the new guy) that send them on to the playoffs. Anything is possible |

From what I can gather on Twitter, there is interest around Miller, just not on his approved team list - which was apparently the 3 California teams and 2 other mystery teams.
There's a number of fits. SJ, Anaheim are both legitimate but seem to be lukewarm on adding him. I bet you could find takers in Columbus, Edmonton, maybe Calgary or Ottawa.
It would have been great if Philly or Winnipeg were 1) on the list and 2) managed to hang around the playoff race longer. |

But even if they make the playoffs its in a wildcard spot and you're gonna get pooppumped. The defence isn't good enough, you don't have a high end goaltender and your first line is rapidly aging into a second line. It would take a renaissance for half the team to be any kind of real playoff threat. |

Its possible. Oprik only has 2 seasons left. If you get something good from the Caps, you make that trade, even if he just replaces Sbisa. Same for guys like Filpula, Gaborik, Klein, Coburn.
For the right price you could take any of those guys and turn them around at some point into another asset.
Even might make sense to see if Columbus needs someone to take on Hartnell or J Johnson. - Lindenis#1
Only Filpula maybe the rest nah |

Maybe but i doubt a bridge gets done.
Guessing 8/5-5.5m

If you do that kind of trade you're not doing it to acquire the bad contract player, you're doing it to do that team a cap favour in exchange for valuable young assets.
Toronto took on Laich because it got them Carrick. Arizona took on Bolland to get Crouse, Datsyuk to move up in the first round. Carolina took Bickell to get Teravainen. etc.
The pooptier the player the more value you might get in the second player in the deal. |
