Its 3 and to a maximum of 15% of the maximum cap, so the value cannot exceed about $10.95 million |

better late than never dept-IMO 2 deals by Vanc were type of deals to be made 2 years ago when it was pretty clear where team was headed

Honestly, if both players acquired only end up being AHLers, I am still happy they made the moves and took the chances.
Benning was quoted last night as saying "Now, we need to shift our focus and get this next group of players up and going that we’re going to be competitive and win with." which makes me wonder if they are going to reevaluate his acquisitions from the past few years (ie Sutter, Gudbranson, etc.) |

ppl started screaming for this after 2012. But really, should have started in 2013, after being swept by San Jose. Bringing in torts was the worst idea. Shoulda went with a WD type coach then. Then start the rebuild. Woulda had a shot at McD etc.... Not that we would win the lottery.
Well, it's starting now. Let's see how long it takes. Hopefully we can get a top 2 this draft.
A trade for Dahlen this year, a lottery win and draft Dahlin next year |

At the end of the day these are two good deals by Benning, I'm sure the dynamics between ownership and management have been difficult over the past two years, regardless, they look to be headed down the right path now. |

Ray Ferraro is wrong, this should have happened after 2012 season. Sedin's should have been traded before they became these anchors that they are now.
Benning has continued to build this team his way, with some prospects that are more nhl ready & solid drafting all while remaining "competitive". |

As I just said in above post, owners IMO are to blame but seem to be buying in now. |

If they won the lottery last year (1 or 2) I wonder how the panel would describe their rebuild?

I'll take the blame for that! I was always of the opinion you can't trade them, in that I always held them in the Yzerman/Sakic mold in what they meant to the franchise, not because I thought the team should remain competitive.
Well, that was wrong on my part, those other two guys won multiple Cups and I shouldn't have held them in the same regard. Vantel was right, they should've gotten rid of them four years ago. |

But it's not hindsight on his part, he was saying this a few years ago and has always maintained the stance that he couldn't understand Canucks management thought process. |

The past is the past . As long as they learn going forward. It is years late but finally we are understanding what has to be |

Winning the lottery can certainly accelerate things, look how much better the Leafs and Oilers are with McDavid and Matthews in their lineups, and Matthews isn't even a generational talent, he's just damn good! |

I'm a fan of intelligent thinking in the process of rebuilding, something Mr. Aquilini was slow to catch onto |

Speaking of damn good, about an hour ago Jeff Marek compared Nolan Patrick to Jonathon Toews, now that would be a pretty nice addition to our retool on the fly.
