Has brodin not done well for them this year? Scandella's probably the odd one out, hasnt played well in some time. - Sabresfan-365
If Buffalo is going to buy low on a guy that may still have promise, what they send the other way better not amount to a lot, especially for a team in either cap trouble or expansion draft trouble. |

With Bieska and his NMC, the Ducks have a serious problem come expansion draft time.
You're preaching to the choir on Ryan Ellis.
I believe the Ducks sat Vatanen for a game or two earlier this season. - kingcong39
Still think he would be a nice add. He wont be your star but he would add an element that we are missing. And If his value is down im ready to buy low because i think he could excel here. |

I dont think so. I think it makes sense in a hard cap sport where the talent from team to team is very thin but you look at any nba team with any sort of playoff talent on their team and they're basically going by the "we'll outscore our problems" system.
Quite a few european soccer leagues trending this way as well. How rich, the sport that coined the term parking the bus is phasing it out and yet it lives on in bylsma's heart - Sabresfan-365
That gives hope that they are all slowly but surely realizing that even though it is sport, they are still in the entertainment business, and having a product that is far from entertaining is going to mean people look elsewhere.
I still think the majority play a defense heavy style for A. coach control issues and B. it's safer in the W/L column. |

i mean if were talking pouliot low sure but i think a guy like Shea Theodore is a decent target as well.
You'd have to give up a decent amount with him because they dont really have to move him. I just think he'll be the victim of a numbers game there. |

No disagreement here. I only added them sitting him as an indicator that he might be a surprise member of their defense to be available.
Curious if they still feel Fowler is the expendable piece or if this season has changed their minds. |

The problem is those extra wins sometimes convinces a GM to come out and say something stupid like "one extra win a month and we're in the playoffs" And then not make those big changes. - Sabresfan-365

Well i mean if we are talking about a young target i think they would be more likely to more him over a guy like say Dumba. I think Brodin hasnt quite lived up to the expectations of a high pick but hes still a valuable player no doubt |

Saw Tippett in the CHL Prospects game or whatever they call that Don Cherry/Bobby Orr game. Was only time I saw him play, but looked just as good as Patrick and Nico. Well, maybe Nico looked a little better, but definitely looked like he belonged. In the words of Lloyd Christmas, I like it, I like it a laut. |

I agree. Hes having quite a season. I know despite that reports, that he is liked among some of the guys and he has a girlfriend here so maybe that could rub off on him and hel feel comfortable staying here long term |

I think Tippett is gonna make some noise leading up to the draft. Stock is going way up

Reinhart for Hanifin
Neither player has to be protected at the draft.
Use a 2 and 4 to pick up McQuaid or Miller and a 5 from Boston
Use the 3 and the 5th from Boston to pick up a Forward who is left exposed.
Use the other 2 to pair with bogosian to move him for a mid round pick.
Hanifin
McQuaid/Miller
Decent forward

Let's say, we don't really move anymore in the standings and pick 10th. Would you consider taking a stab at Liljegren? His stock as fallen, but it seems due to injury more than anything else. I think we could put another stud D-man in the bank if he falls to us. - sskkoo1
So let me get this straight, you would want to take a stab at Liljgren, whose stock has fallen because of injury, but no one wants to give Kulikov even the slightest break even though he broke his tailbone and has been trying to play hurt. Man, I just don't understand some people on this board.
Why the hell isn't Murray signing Florentino? |

Hanifin is holding his own and was an 18 yr old starting top 6 guy out the gate.
They should be looking at guys like Fluery, Kylington, and Day IMO.
Only way y ou move Reinhart at this juncture is for a legitimate top 2 d-man, period! No exceptions. |

the very fact that he was (should be) on a line with one of the top young players in the nhl should indubitably pique his interest...
don't know about the gf, but if he wants to be a playah, he can get from buffalo to Toronto or nyc or even Chicago rather easily...
then again, not sure what he's thinking...but regardless, they'll need to come to a decision this summer...if they can't, they need to seriously consider trading him |

I never liked this mentality. Just because people haven't "earned it" doesn't mean you should go around not respecting people.
I treat everybody with respect unless they give me a reason not to, and even in those cases I try not to outright disrespect them - chilliard77
Well, for me that was POTD right there!
Finally, a mature approach. |

i'm not convinced with Nylander or even bailey right now in a top-six role...maybe a down the road but right now...
and, y'all love to rag on gorges and weber...truth be told Bylsma had a better defense when gorges was on the top pair with risto and weber was on the third pairing...bogo and McCabe were the most consistent pairing last season...
how is this d-corps worse than that? - Michael Pachla
I agree Pach. The principle of diminishing marginal utility appears to be applicable with Bailey. He hasn't done much lately that he appeared to be doing when first called up. |
