I didn't think there was anything left in this miserable season to cause me disappointment but this sad send-off to the Joe is the last nail in the coffin of the once-great Avs/Wings rivalry.
The pendulum will swing, the Avs will get better and eventually form new rivalries with different teams. Yet, I can't help but feel like a little bit of hockey lore took a last gasp of air and ultimately died today.
