I agree that he's been fine.
My concern is that like Nelson had a decent end to the season last year, and then looked incredibly lost to start the season, could have the same effect on Austin. - thatsapickle
But Nelson was coming from College. Austin has been "in the system" for 3 years now. |

Pretty sure he had to write involving because it's clear O'Reilly was not driving that night. - kingcong39

This.
If he had the puck, it's a great, clean hit - sbroads24
And he didn't because of a completely unforeseen event. I'm not saying it's not a penalty. I get that the game comes with the major. I'm saying that everything, aside from the hit itself, did not stride into him, arm was firmly pinned to his side, and did not launch even a little bit, show that he was letting up. He was committed, there was no way he was stopping. You want to say he was a bit reckless and he committed too early? Fine. But that was the least dirty hit I've ever seen that got a major for interference. Chara breaking Pacioretty's neck only got a major(and a game). No suspension. You're telling me those are the same level of severity? Come on. Let's be real here for a second. |

Seemed like a late hip check due to the puck being lost . What Crosby did has been reviewed in the past and a couple suspensions from it . I can't remember who.
Here is a list ........

You want to see something terrifying? Look at the author's byline. The last phrase of it. After the date.

No problem.
The NHL did something about 15-20 years ago to make the refs unknown. They removed the names on the sweaters of officials for numbers.
The refs aren't allowed to give interviews with the media after a game.
So the refs basically said what happens to us stays private then.
The NHL agreed. - Stripes77
I think the MLB is the only major league that lets it's officials give interviews. The NFL definitely doesn't and I can't recall hearing about an NBA official talking. But I remember after that home plate umpire (frank)ed up and took away Gallaraga's(sp) perfect game, he came out afterward and admitted that he made a mistake. Maybe it's not an official interview, but they don't have a gag order like the NHL and NFL. |

I didn't say that though. I think at most it should be a game. But they've called the penalty correctly according to the rules. |

Oh, I was talking about the top of the page. I thought that was the byline?
It says "2 min read".
"Before you dive in, here's how long it will take you to read this. If that's too long, you can just move on with your day." Which if that takes you 2 minutes to read, read more.
I could understand if it was some huge 5,000 word article, then maybe give people a heads up, but that entire article fit onto my screen even with the video. |

Rick Nash hit 20 goals.
Seriously, Id take him in a complimentary role for next year if they need to move a forward for defense. |

What I'm saying is that what Chara did was worthy of a 5 and a game and more. What Risto did wasn't. Circumstances matter even if, God forbid, Guentzel's neck did break they're not anywhere close to the same viciousness, so why call them the same? I understand the officials didn't want things to boil over, but the Pens didn't react in the slightest after the hit either. Nobody tried to get at Risto at all. Everyone was just kind of "what happened?". |
