I worry that it will be like Nelson at the start of the year.

Right now he's playing well, but once he becomes a part of the "system" he will be handcuffed and struggle.

Should call up nylander for last 8 or 9 games

It's been 2 games. We thought gragnani was the future. He's been fine but I don't expect much beyond this year. I think the performance will probably get him a qualifying offer instead of released.

I agree that he's been fine.

My concern is that like Nelson had a decent end to the season last year, and then looked incredibly lost to start the season, could have the same effect on Austin.

It's been 2 games. We thought gragnani was the future. He's been fine but I don't expect much beyond this year. I think the performance will probably get him a qualifying offer instead of released.

I'm not expecting the world from him, I dont need him to rack up a crap ton of points just a guy who wont be a total mess in his own end and can skate somewhat well.

Like I said 5-7 d-man. I don't think that is asking too much.

i think he can sign once both our regular season and his season in general is over. Someone on twitter (baker i think) mentioned that would be april 30th?

relative to his draft status it probably is. if he turns into that then great but i dont expect anything more than stop gap work. I dont think 10 games here at the end of a lost season is enough for me to have him penciled in the nhl lineup next year where the pressure will really be on.

Hopefully that "System" that ruined Nelson isn't in place next year....
