Smith was regarded as one of the top, possibly THE top college UFA. Put up outstanding numbers all three years of college, Vesey-like almost. Doesn't have great size but has elite speed.

I believe we have to wait for his Russian season to end to announce the signing of the Russian dman. The fact that reliable sources said he was signing with Buffalo and the​ fact we've heard nothing of the contrary since is promising
