Don't have a problem with Sam getting benched but I'm not crazy about dressing him and than not playing him at all... hard to make a call without knowing all the facts. Seeing as we were all ready down Kyle, makes this even more strange.

If fedun was injured as well it just sounds like they couldnt get anyone else into the lineup in time so they had no choice but to dress him .

the 20-player thing came into play...not sure if they had anyone else to dress...maybe fedun if he's recovered form injury and have a d-man, maybe McCabe or even fedun, play on the fourth line...

i'm assuming more will come out in the next couple of days

As I said last night, if he broke a team rule then you punish him accordingly and respectfully. Not a public humiliation by sitting him at the end of the bench for the entire game. Compounding this idiotic decision was the fact that both Okposo and Fedun were sick so they were already short-handed. Isn't it Disco's MAIN reason for coaching the Sabres is to WIN? He easily could have told Sam that he broke the team rule but his discipline will be handed out a later time (next game?) because the TEAM was short-handed. I find this situation ironic in that Disco said the reason for the discipline was because it's all about the team yet the decision Disco made hurt the team last night.

they're looking long-term, as Gionta also said...Reinhart broke the rules so he didn't play...bad timing on his part as they had no one to take his place in the lineup

Non-issue for me you break the rules you get punished I'm glad they didn't let this go so he doesn't do it again

According to the CBA they have to dress 18 skaters. They didn't have anyone else to play on short notice with the Okposo illness.

What if a player got hurt during the game, they would have had to play Reinhart. Dumb move by Bylsma. It should have been kept in-house and addressed when they came home.

Id bet that if someone got hurt hed play him. I dont think he actually wanted to publicly embarrass him but honestly might be for the best. Some players need that.
