I thought McCabe played pretty well this year. I think both he and Risto would be far more effective if we had one more D and the ice weren't always so slanted. Look how much better the D looked in the last 3 games when we got some pressure on the other goalie.

Reinhart has been very disappointing. He absolutely should not be playing on Eichel's wing. He was far more impressive when he recently played center for a couple of games.

I think Reinhart is shaping out to be a guy that needs top end talent around him to be effective. Which is the case for a lot of NHL'ers, not the case for a lot of guys drafted that high.

Knowing Vesey was going to be at least that was worth it.

The 2014 class as a whole was not supposed to be a jaw dropping draft class by any means. I believe Reinhart can be a top line RW option but it might take him some time just like it took Turris a little while to become the player he is today in Ottawa.

So since we are better without Risto, do we leave him unprotected and free up another spot? Maybe we can protect Ennis or Moulson now?

the fact that as a 3rd round pick you are in the NHL contributing is a big deal, like the equivalent of a 6-7th round pick in the NFL making your team and contributing on something other then special teams.

We should ask the Rangers to loan us Vesey so we can protect him for them.
