Shows we suck at drafting

Going out on a limb here but I think that Murray is probably better at drafting compared to you or any of us armchair GM's on this board. Let's evaluate Murray's Buffalo draft record in about 3 years. I think Pach did an a column on his drafting history in Anaheim and Ottawa. If i remember correctly, he is at >50% of his drafts play in the NHL. Could you imagine where the Sabres would be today if >50% of our draft picks played in the NHL during the Regier era?

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.

If any of this is true it would mean that the General Manager of the Buffalo Sabres is NOT a completely incompetent BOOB, and that the incessant criticism of his trades by some the most regular posters on this page is unfair and inaccurate.

From my perspective:

Bogo - worst part of a big trade for us. This is a miss. It does not make GMTM an incompetent BOOB.

Kulikov - has not played well here, but mostly has not played here. The trade is impossible to grade in light of the back injury - but bear in mind, we gave up a "pretty average" guy. We found a few "pretty average" guys riding buses in the AHL. It does not make GMTM an incompetent BOOB.

Gorges - Frankly, I don't get the hate. He isn't great. Wasn't selected to be great. Maybe I'm not as good a hockey watcher as the critics, but I would say his play had been OK, and that's what we brought him in to be. It does not make GMTM an incompetent BOOB.

Just picked up (3) of these in NorCal. $7.99 per bottle. Very hard to come by. People line up at store openings to get them ......

I almost feel like BOGO was a salary dump we took as a favor. But if thats the case, something/someone shouldnt have gone the other way. I almost feel like it should have just been Staff and Meyers for Bogo and an injured player Wpeg wanted nothing to do with anymore.
However, we did offload a long NTC in Meyers.

Kulikovs injuries make him look like crap. He would have been a perfectly serviceable 3/4 had he never got injured. GM's dont have crystal balls. Murray had no idea he was going to get messed up THAT much this year.

Georges should be a 6/7 and I dont think he ever has been the entire time he has been here. Biggest problem with our D is that guys are constantly playing more than they should be.

I also like some the kids that we have brought up lately as well as Guhle. We may have a few possibilities there plus may be someone in FA this summer or a trade? Frankly, I feel like the #1 thing we need to get rid of this year is Bogo and his contract.

That's pretty respectable work, but I think with another 10 minutes of Google you could find something more arcane where he leads the league outright.

He just signed to play with Derek Grant in Rochester next year

Hey, he had 5 goals last weekend! Just another Cal O'Reilly, TJ Brennan. Amazing in the AHL, can't do poop in the NHL it was a mistake not to bring back Legwand. Unless he was really intent on retiring.

That is why i cannot believe it got passed. The government should of stepped in IMO. If they stayed in Oakland they would of got a Billion dollar stadium too and the cost to the taxpayers was only going to be 150-200 million.

Reinhart participated for about a half hour in the O'Reilly practice. He has not been a regular this year. He never missed one last year.
