I feel like a lot of Sabres fans under appreciate Miller. That Crosby goal killed my soul but he was still a great goalie - chilliard77
Not saying you were speaking of me, but I didn't under-appreciate Miller. He was a good goalie but not even close to elite. 1 season does not make you elite.
Not to mention what goaltenders can actually be called elite?
Hasek
Brodeur
???
I don't even think Patrick Roy was elite. IMO, there's maybe 20-25 ACTUALLY elite players in the history of the NHL. And I'd only put 2 goalies on that list. Hasek and Brodeur.

Ew, bare hands? I'm not a barbarian. I use gloves, man.
Edit: I use gloves to clean my cats litter box. If I were to stick a finger up my butt, I'd probably wear 3 gloves and then stick my hand in acid afterward. - Wetbandit1
I heard condoms and lube work best for this... I HEARD.

I think I have a more broad opinion on what defines elite
Gerbe's picture of Kevin from The Office made me think of the episode when they were going through the health care plan and decided what to cut coverage for and anal fissures was on there and Michael made a big deal about it, like no one had it, it was made up, and Kevin was forced to out himself at the end. That was when The Office was good.

I watched that show for the first time a couple of years ago I do not regret it lol
Now I'm thinking about Kevin running to the bathroom right now

So, the weekend is shaping up to look like...
Tampa taking two pts from Montreal to give them 92
Saturday:
Tor at Pitt
Det playing a tired Mont. and one of the last two games at the Joe
Sabres playing in Flor for a 4pt towel bowl game
Dallas at home verse Col.
Sunday:
Det at home, last game at the Joe vs. NJ
Buff at TB, must win game if Tor loses to Pitt
Col at Tor, no easy win for Tor
Flor at wash
We have the making of a perfect storm to crash us down to 6th in the final standings, while seeing the Leafs miss the playoffs and rock the 16th pick.

He was always a great goalie but there's a not-too-surprising uptick in his numbers with the increase of pad-sizes. Just saying. And Colorado are my favorite team in the Western Conference; I loved Patrick Roy as a player.
I think the term "elite" means that not many people can be that. Gretzky, Lemeuix, How, Hull & Hull, Jagr, Hasek, etc...
I don't even think Ovechkin is 'elite'. The only player over the past 10 years who is elite, IMO, is Crosby, I hate to admit and all signs point to McDavid being elite.
Some players were incredible players and great but elite is reserved for a select few.

No, that's was just a retort to your post. My point is Lehner is better, in some cases, much better than what he's given credit for.
People are caught up in what we paid for him. And that definitely matters, but to not give a guy credit who has done nothing but post good numbers since he's been here just because a GM "overpaid" for him is asinine. He had nothing to do with it. - Wetbandit1
To be honest, unless he's a top 5 goalie or bottom 5 goalie, I don't really care about his play. It's almost meaningless to me. He's niether. Andersen makes the saves top 5 goalies make, and has done well in postseason play. He's closer than Lehner.
Very few goalies make a big difference on teams. There are a few guys playing great, a few playing poorly, and 20 playing relatively similar

Yeah I looked it up too. It's basically a pasta in my book - chilliard77
Might as well be. I think of a dumpling and chicken and dumplings comes to mind and Chinese food. But I prefer the masses of dough over the stuffed variety.

Damn now I NEED chicken and dumplings.... - BeadyEyedDouche
I've never had chicken and dumplings. But my Grandma was super Polish so I had plenty of perogies growing up
