This is what most of us have speculated on. This is not a shock at all Wang would do this. - ses111
That's (frank)ing astounding.
I hope Wang gets hit by a (frank)ing meteor. |

Fair point but only one team wins the cup each year. My opinion was that Snows been average at best with the draft. Ryan Jankowski was canned in 2010.....that was the year the isles drafted Nino, Strome and then Reinhardt. To me, that three years of top 5 picks (by Garth) is what set the team back. - kindlyrick
Don't get me wrong KR, I'm not saying he's great either. I said he wasn't a complete disaster. I'd give him average to a touch above simply for the talent he's stockpiled. That said, he holds onto that talent like a hoarder with a shopping addiction. Unless he is completely disenchanted with a player, he won't trade them. |

If true that's an absolute bottom of the barrel scummy move. - kindlyrick
It's right up Wang's alley. I did not know about this contract until now, but I thought it had to be one of the reasons Garth was not fired with Cappy and has not been fired yet. |

So even though Wang isn't in control any more, yet he is still shackling the franchise with bad contracts! Five more years?! At least?!

"Snow has four playoff appearances in 11 seasons as GM. According to numerous sources around the league, he also has a contract with at least five more seasons on it, a parting gift of sorts from loyal former owner Charles Wang when he turned control of the team over to Malkin and Ledecky."
Is this true?! - Mancalledsting
I was just about to post this, what a joke. So if they fire him they still have to pay on that and who knows what the amount is. Both titles, I'm sure it's a good chunk of change |

What a douchebag if that's true. |

It's not the slightest bit surprising. Wang has never not been incompetent, human garbage. |

Ledecky is not a hockey genius, but it had to be something like this to stop Ledecky from firing Garth earlier with Cappy. Nothing else made sense. |

This is probably why they were looking at a new President, because it's basically someone who has to approve Snows moves, which would basically make Snow his assistant GM. It's their way of circumventing having to keep Snow on. |

I'm sure it is. I just posted the article. 5 years should still not stop Ledecky from firing Garth. - ses111
500,000,000 reasons why a 5 year contract to Snow shouldn't stop L and M to fire his ass after this seasons circus alone. |

Who cares if he has 5 years left on the deal. It was given by wang which means its probably 200,000 a year Peanuts for owners who just spent 400 million on the team. Fire his arse!! |

An attorney once told me that Wang never got in trouble with Sanjay because he purposefully never had email. Imagine that......the owner of CA and no email. |

Wang was not going away quietly. This is such a punk move. I'm only shocked he did not do the same with Cappy. |

Plus I'll bet anything these owners knew about the contract before they purchased the team. For the money they spent they probably know how much it cost to put a napkin dispenser in the break room |

You would think it would not Vukota. Who knows what Wang really did though? It could be more than 5 and for bigger money. The guy is insane and could have done anything. |

I have a family member in tech sales that worked for CA in the 80's. He's convinced Sanjay was just the fall guy and that Wang was taking care of his family when he was incarcerated. He also knew Wang personally and said he was just an awful human being. He can get (frank)ed. |

Wang could have done it on his last day of owning the controlling-stake of the team and Ledecky/Malkin couldn't have done a single damn thing about it. |

So essentially you pay him to go away or you pay him to continue to f uck up this franchise.
Bite the bullet and cut him loose. |

C'mon man. They spent almost half a billion on the team. I'm pretty sure they knew about everything. And if Wang did do that last second they still could have backed out of the deal if it was that bad of a contract |
