Player development is where this team lacks, in my opinion. Draft all the talent you want, but if you can't develop them properly, they're not going to be that successful.

Totally agree but if you make the POs 4 times in 11 years you should have a ton of prospects in the system based on your draft position in 7 of those 11 years and not having to trade any prospects or picks to go after pieces you need to win in the PO's.
I always laugh when people say Garth drafted well, but no one knows what the Islanders would look like today if someone else was doing the drafting. Thats why you have to base the job he's done on the success of the team and for that, imho he gets an F, and its time this team fired his ass, brought in a true NHL Executive and get some creditability back to this organization.

The team was trending upward. L&M had no clue the season was going to be as bad as it was. They also figured Snow would be around due to the upward trend, so it might not have been a big deal to them.
