Like I said for 1 year yeah its not a problem. They have just about every forward coming back. Barring a trade the roster is gonna look alot like this years. Its the following year when they lose Halak, Bailey, Kuli, Grabo etc etc That's when this team will be re-shaped IMO

So at that point, it doesn't matter what players are on it. If the scheme sucks, players won't produce under it, INCLUDING PULOCK.

Did you actually see how good the pp was with him last year? I mean it was only the last few games and into ayoffs but he really had an impact

No, my point which you keep glazing over, is that the entire team, roster, and coaching is hand picked by your boy Garth. The problems starts with him. Im not suggesting with a legit coach the isles couldnt squeek in on talent. Coaching or no coaching at some point players have to excute. Those players have been picked by Snow and did not get it done.

100% agreed. He had a big goal in the playoffs for the isles. It also means teams cant cheat down low knowing that the play is get JT the puck.

Exactly and in Halak's case he seems to want to be the clear cut starter and not share too much. I hope he goes to Philly but Snow will never let that happen unless it is another three way like Streit to TB and then to Pitts. Halak is simply world class when healthy and is still young enough to be really good for a few more years. that being said Greiss was outstanding for the most part and I would like to see him start as number one and Halak gone.

Halaks complaint, and was a legitimate complaint is he wasnt getting his reps at practice cause he was sharing the crease with another goalie. 29 out of 30 teams dont have a three goalie rotation........Garth's smarter than everyone! This is who was signed to be your starting goalie, and he had complained for over a year about it and it was not addressed. Let me reiterate that no other team does this....
- kindlyrick

Tell Halak to stop messing up his groin and maybe he wouldn't be in that scenario.

Berube backed up Greiss because the more Greiss plays consecutively, the more he gradually falters. Now, the right criticisms would be at that point to either get a better 3rd string goalie or on Berube himself.

True.....i wasnt posing it as a question. It was more rhetorical, but I get what you're saying. Halak comes off the books by the time 91s new conny would kick in.

Earlier some were talking about the bad contracts Lombardi has handed out. Snow has given out quite a few himself.

Cizikas, Clutterbuck,Kulimen, Grabovski, Ladd, Boychuk

Hell, if Snow guided us to two Stanley Cups I would't give a shat about the bad contracts, but we won 1 PO series under him and 3 of the contracts were given out this year and they didn't even make the PO's.

Also Lombardi completely and utterly botched that Sekera trade.

That said, Rutherford was starting to become a bit of a joke in Carolina and once he went to Pittsburgh he sure seemed to do a good job. I believe Lombardi could do the same. He's overly loyal, handing out those putrid contracts to Brown, et al. but maybe a change of scenery would be like hitting the reset button for him.

Im done with this convo.......the problem was the three goalie rotation which you are failing to realize. I'll repeat it so you read this again and hopefully it sinks in. NO OTHER TEAM has a three goalie rotation. 16 of the 30 teams in the NHL made the playoffs. The isles were not one of them. Something wasnt working. You'd think the management had a plan holding on to a third goalie for 2 years?? Seems like it was just another example of not knowing what to do so you do nothing.......as per usual under this regime.

I'm criticizing Garth on his loyalty with the coaching. That is the only non-debatable criticism, imo. Again, that alone should make him worry about his job.

Word on the street was they thought they had him before the draft. Then Vancouver took the devils deal instead. Nino was part of the package going back to the cancuks

His inability to capitalize on a large chunk of John Tavares' prime is also indisputable. He tried to build a team that was almost wholly home-grown and it failed. I would also throw player development in as something that is inexcusable also.

I'm not going down this road with rick again, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I think the only area in which Snow showed any aptitude was on draft day. I suppose you could also argue that he did a good job not pissing away top prospects, but failing to surround Tavares with any real talent until a few projects developed kind of washes that one out.

If Halak didn't have such an injury history, they wouldn't have brought in a 3rd goalie in the first place. This isn't why we missed the playoffs btw. Still more of the blame goes on Snow for not pulling the trigger on Cappy sooner.

Ironically what I'd like to see is someone come in and do what Snow did when he came and flipped three first round busts into Ryan Smyth.

This is all true. People thought it was a joke when the Pens hired Rutherford. I think Lombardi is worth it.

Your argument is futile because Berube saw no games for 3/4 of the season. I agree that he was insurance, but it was a panic move, and over managing if you ask me. Because in doing so, he alienated his starter, banished him, and then came calling on him when he the team could have possibly made the 8th seed. Total mismanagement

I'm willing to roll the dice on him.

I don't think there are a ton of great options out there and I'm extremely gun-shy on giving the job to another first-time-GM/President.
