I could see teams being interested in any of those three. I may be in the minority but I haven't given up on Strome. I think he clashed with Crappy and could do better under a different coach.

I still say there is no chance in hell that Snow trades Bailey. He'll probably be looking to extend his contract.

- JimmyP

I haven't totally given up on Strome either, but I'm most certainly open to moving him. I'd say he has the 2nd best value of the three. Nelson having the most and Bailey having the least, simply because of the fact he makes the most money of the three and will be a pending UFA after next year.

Close enough. I completely agree about Hamonic. He was a decent d-man for years, then kind of suddenly went downhill this season. He's worth protecting in the hope that he bounces back to his old form. He won't get a decent return in a trade this off season.

Everyone is entitled to a down year, but he has to be better next season, assuming he's here.

I can't believe that Wang would f**king do that, give Snow a contract extension-golden parachute. What a way to f**k the incoming owners: saddle them with a horrendous contract for an executive. But then again, its Wang so I shouldn't be surprised.

Its amazing: Dean Lombardi gets fired for his team missing the playoffs after bringing two cups to an organization that was losing when he took over. Snow gets a contract extension for making the playoffs 4 out of 11 years and bowing out in the first round in three of those four playoffs.

Should we just urge Wang to fly United?

He's also proven to be incredibly injury prone, which lowers his trade value and lessens the chances he gets picked by Vegas.

Meh, I'm not a Strome fan at all. After Crappy was canned he had a fun of maybe 5 games where he played well, after that he went back to his old ways.
His problem imho, is inbetween his ears I'm afraid and I don't know if he's ever going to be a consistent proformer. I hope I'm wrong but....

If Hamonic is left unprotected unless McPhee gets a pick or something in return from the Islanders not to take him, they will snatch him up quicker than shat through a goose. He's a character guy, has a cap friendly deal and if he becomes a Golden Knight he would be a strong candidate to be their 1st Captain.

Hah you were probably saying the "up and coming young" islanders would compete for the division and the "old declining" rangers would miss the playoffs

Great track record guy

I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you're getting at or if you know this, but they are allowing the waiving of NMC's just for the purpose of exposing players to the expansion draft, without actually nullifying the NMC. So Boychuk/Ladd would just be exposing themselves, I can't imagine they're stupid and think that anyone wants a 30+ player on a long term deal with the cap hit that they carry.

I'm not sure there are 7 forwards that need to be protected either, just saying that I don't think it's so far-fetched to see either guy waive. But if you made me pick 7 forwards to protect: 91, 16, 27, 29, 18, 25, 12.

Before someone jumps down my throat about protecting some of those guys, I don't love them all either...but throwing away assets is never a good idea, especially when 29 other teams are going to need to fill holes that get created when Vegas takes one of their players. Josh Bailey's trade value will never be higher than this offseason, I pray to god whoever the hell is in charge sees that.
