Kings win two cups with these guys and they're fired. Garth has survived 11 years with one playoff series win.
- NYI44

This says it all. What a great move if the Isles hired these 2 to take over.

Come on they won 2 Stanley Cups in a Hard Cap league which will make it hard to continue your dominance and or success.
That's a bit tough looking at what they accomplished in LA.

- nyisles7

I agree 7. Very few slam dunk choices and these two would be pretty close to me.

To be honest with you Ses, there's a big difference between bad ice which is an occurrence league wide because of weather or the amount of events scheduled at venues etc. and dangerous ice where an injury can occur.

I wouldn't want to skate on ice where your blade stops because it has hit concrete, that phucking dangerous and quite frankly unexceptable if you ask me.

The NHL should be ashamed to have ok'd that BC deal knowing the Ice making Equiptment wasn't up to NHL standard.

- nyisles7

The ice is a very valid issue. So is Garth still being GM. I just think JT should tell Ledecky the team needs a new GM. JT can keep it quite and does not have to announce it.

No I doubt either Lombardi or Sutter will be interested in the Isles

Talk about a huge opening for L and M. Does not get easier than this. Even if they say NO you still try to go all out to get them.
- ses111

This is as easy a slam dunk as it gets. Holy crap, they'd better be burning up the phone lines right now.

Want to make a statement to Tavares you're serious about winning? Bring in those guys.

Am told Kings will have a "significant" announcement shortly.

Anyone wanna take bets? Sutter out, Stevens in?

- eichiefs9

Both sutter and lombardi are out. Kings cleaned house. A team with a pair of stanley cups in the last 5 years cleaned house. But snow is still the isles gm. Must be nice having owners that have expectations of winning.

Sadly what's been said is that JT wants Bert & Ernie 2.0 here. Yes he's a franchise player, but you can't allow him to call the shots. Have some input, maybe, but not have control of the team.

Must be nice having owners with a set of stones. That's how you hold people accountable.

How can you not have Weight back. He completely turned this team around after Captain Jerk nearly ran it into the ground. Snow is definitely the big problem and reason why this team hasn't done a thing in his tenure here. But our ownership has been absentee as well. Where the hell is this team going to play in 2 years? Why wasn't Snow fired mid-season. Do something to show us that you care for God's sake

Even if they know where they will be playing... they are contractionlly required to not announce it until 1/1/18 I believe

The game didn't change THAT much in 5 years. Of course he could have offered up some bad contracts that handcuffed him, but it's not that much different.

Was Lombardi the guy that drafted Hickey 4th overall? If so, I don't want any part of that guy. I don't care what he's won

Ok that makes sense. But I can feel secure in saying it won't be Hartford

They came, they built, they won not one but twice. again the cap is doing its job, plain and simple.

I would not let JT pick the new GM, but you can bet I would listen if he wanted Garth out. JT is not the type and will suffer in silence.

As far as Weight, 2 letters. PP. He was in charge of it. It sucked. BAD. I like him, but I don't want him back as a coach. Front office, maybe, yeah.
Everything else I agree with.

Ask the Rangers and many other teams if they would have taken the two Cup wins for some struggle now.

Right and Garth never made a bad draft pick. Most GM's make bad picks.

Let's say he was (I'm not sure). One poor 1st round pick is why you wouldn't want him? If his scouts told him to take him, sure-fire pick. Would that change your mind?
