I love that you referred to Snow as absentee. The isles should hire Dean Lombardi. He brought a cup to LA and has made bold moves in the past. You can bet your bottom dollar his first move is getting JT a RW. He certainly wouldn't wait 9 years. Reason #153 why Snow should be relieved of his duties. |

I would not let JT pick the new GM, but you can bet I would listen if he wanted Garth out. JT is not the type and will suffer in silence. - ses111
The scuttlebutt had JT saying he likes Snow and wants him to stay. So let's do this. You own the Islanders. It's April 10th. JT comes to you and says "I want Garth as my GM. If he goes, I go". What do you do? Now I'm curious what you guys would do. |

I trade JT. First I would ask him what has Garth done in 11 years that he should stay one second longer? |

Right and Garth never made a bad draft pick. Most GM's make bad picks. - ses111
Wait, so is Hickey playing for the Kings?
I guess Lombardi and co realized their mistake, admitted it and Hickey because of that wears an Islanders jersey. Wow must be nice to have a GM that accepts his mistakes realizes no ones perfect and has the maturity to deal with it professionally

Right! Unlike our GM who holds onto his mistakes forever. |

As far as Weight, 2 letters. PP. He was in charge of it. It sucked. BAD. I like him, but I don't want him back as a coach. Front office, maybe, yeah.
Everything else I agree with. - Isleshockeyman
I don't think he had great tools to work with. I agree with you that the power play hasn't been very good at all but I felt like that should have been placed more on the players and the personnel Snow assembled. But he had this team playing hard and well under his watch. I would love to see him work with Barzal, Ho-Sang and an upgrade on JTs Right Side. |

I sign JT tell him Garth staying, and the day after JT signs his contract I fire Snows ass and tell JT I changed my mind. Play hockey and let me decide who runs my team.

In fairness, this situation is the same as Reinhart. And Garth got Barzal and Beau for him, where Hickey was waived for nothing. Not defending Garth's other misses, but can't defend Lombardi for Hickey. |

Let's say he was (I'm not sure). One poor 1st round pick is why you wouldn't want him? If his scouts told him to take him, sure-fire pick. Would that change your mind? - Isleshockeyman
That is the worst pick I've ever seen. He was projected to go 20-25. Was picked 4th. Snow has made many bad picks but that one trumps all of his blunders |

I was screaming at the TV "oh my God we're getting Forsberg" at the top of my lungs. And he drafts that clown. Forsberg would look pretty good on JTs right wing |

You fire Snow, hire Lombardi and negotiate his contract. If he balks or refuses, trade him. You can't give a player that much power. And if JT is going to put his personal feelings above the team like that, I don't want him here anyway. |

If they feel they can't, trade him and get back a nice haul. I'm ok with that. Can't let him walk for nothing. |

So you're going the immoral route. I see. And if he says I want a written guarantee?
See, I'd tell him we're going in a different direction. 1 playoff win in 11 years doesn't cut it. I tell him the team and the fans deserve better. I'd also point out that teams that have recently won cups are making moves. And I'd tell him that I told the fans that I was going to hold people accountable and Snow didn't meet expectations. It had to change. If he wants out, I trade him. I'm not letting a player hold my team hostage, sorry. |

You didn't say the guarantee was in the contract. If it were then I would go the exact same route you stated above
Also because of your points I don't think JT wants Snow here, however I would think he would want to know who will be. |
