He's horrible. - Fakepartofme
You gotta be kidding. He took one of the worst rosters in the NHL and almost got them into the playoffs. |

As @GMillerTSN noted, also hearing how some Kings staff and players went to Lombardi's place last night to say goodbye... strong bonds
See Lombardi can tuck in JT at night boys, all is well |

Its not a bad roster, its the fact that Snow didnt give team the necessary things to build upon instead of regressing this year .... |

I think you do not want Lombardi on the Isles beating the Rangers again. |

Dean Lombardi April 21, 2006 - April 10, 2017
Won Stanley Cup two times (2012, 2014)
2 conference titles and 6 playoff appearances
great resume but seemed to lose concept of drafting & giving out bad contracts after the success he had recently.
Brown/Gaborik/etc are a few bad ones plus even tho its hard to draft but no solid depth coming thru to help in a salary cap era .... |

No chance of that happening. Lombardi is not Garth. If Isles can get a better GM than Lombardi bring it on. |

I'd really love to see what a real GM comes in and does. Im dying to see someone come in and just trim the fat. We as fans deserve to see someone come in and really build a winner. |

Exactly........to me, at this point, i'd rather them miss the playoffs than back door it in. To many years of drafting and building the prospect pool up to be back dooring it in. What a joke. |

At least Brown and Gabo were key to winning the Cups. Garth signs guys to lousy contracts who have won nothing. |

Even if they know where they will be playing... they are contractionlly required to not announce it until 1/1/18 I believe - Dan Petriw
this is it, because the contract with barclays requires negotiation "in good faith" neither side can announce anything for the future until after that period. If the isles announced a new arena now they'd be buried in a lawsuit.

I don't expect any #Isles front-office news today. Could happen, of course, but holding pattern for now it seems.
Some of you might shit your britches over this tweet, but the good news is that he's not tweeting that nobody should expect a front office move to be made. Call it a stretch if you want, but reading between the lines I think he's saying that something may not happen today but that doesn't mean nothing is happening. |
