I don't expect any #Isles front-office news today. Could happen, of course, but holding pattern for now it seems.

Some of you might shit your britches over this tweet, but the good news is that he's not tweeting that nobody should expect a front office move to be made. Call it a stretch if you want, but reading between the lines I think he's saying that something may not happen today but that doesn't mean nothing is happening.

It should be interesting. Lombardi being available has to at least make Ledecky take notice. He cannot say no proven GM's are available.

It's a tough call sometimes. I'm not sure if the Kings had no better internal options available? Bad contracts happen with all teams.

Interesting........like why say anything? I think we're all so damn desperate to see this happen, that any tweet will be amplified. Lets hope....

Perhaps Ledecky is just waiting for the playoffs to be over to have ALL the candidates available?

Seriously, if they stand pat and just bring in a Lindy Ruff, does this satisfy anyone?
We all want Snowjob gone.

He would be cutting things close if he waits until the playoffs are over. I'm not interested in Lindy Ruff.

Tough to keep drafting well when you are winning Cups and not getting the higher picks. Lombardi seemed to do pretty well overall in drafting. It's a crapshoot.

Lindy Ruff would not even be an upgrade to Weight. And Snow cannot be left in place without adult supervision.

drafting is hard, developing can be harder but when the whole NHL got faster, LAK continued to get slower, thats on Gm

Not for nothing but thats also on the scouts..........and quite frankly Garths had some pretty bad drafts if you ask me. Nino, Strome, and Reinhardt, all top 5 picks, arent exactly lighting it up for the isles. ha

I would hope Lombardi can adjust if he gets a new GM job. I'm willing to bet on him.

I mean, when you're winning cups you're not getting top picks. But, what Lombardi did was build a cup team. The isles are at that point. The frame of this team is already built. Its the finishing touches that are needed. And a guy like Lombardi is not afraid to pull the trigger as we saw him bring in key pieces to the kings to take them over the edge for the cup.

I remember Bill Torrey sure struggled with drafting after the Cup years. Many teams will struggle after winning a couple of Cups. If we are looking for the perfect GM, we are in big trouble.

I just dont understand the logic. Its about winning a cup.......and you've got a guy who's got that ability, and yet fans are worried about drafting after winning cups?

Lombardi sure seemed to learn from his experience with the Sharks. If someone has a better choice than Lombardi let's hire this person.

What's interesting is the Kings were possession monsters this year. Seems like poor shooting dug their graves.

I think the need for a solid 2nd line center is much more pressing. John's got his 30g winger in Lee. You rarely see a top center get two excellent wingers, so I would expect that JT's future RW is likely in-house already. Could be Ho-Sang, could be Beauvillier, could be Bailey...who knows. But they really need center depth and it would be great not to throw Barzal directly into the fire and expect him to score enough to be a contributing second line center.

"He also traded for established veterans, including Owen Nolan, Teemu Selänne, Adam Graves, Vincent Damphousse, Mike Ricci, Kyle McLaren, Mike Vernon, Todd Harvey, Bryan Marchment, and Scott Thornton, while developing their prospects slowly. All would become vital in the Sharks success during his tenure."

THis is EXACTLY what the isles need.....established vets to compliment the youth

I hear you........but, i'll bet dollars to donuts, Barzal under the right coach, will step right in and produce. After seeing how Ho Sang had looked after he got comfortable, i think Barzal will flourish right away. Thats the second line center to me. I think you replace Bailey with a speedy finisher, and you know have a top line that can compete with any in the league, and you've also addressed PP1.

I agree with this. Starting Barzal as 3C would be nice. Lee already gives JT one guy and maybe Ho Sang can be the other wing?

Lombardi has done more good than bad in his career. I'm not locked into just Lombardi for the Isles, but he is at the top of the list right now unless someone can give me another choice.
