IMO, Reinhart is going to continue to improve, but not the way they have been using him.
He needs to be playing center. - kingcong39

He said it. He said he couldn't go to the store without "having to talk about the power play". Hes on record saying these things. - MCGUIZZY
What??? So he goes to the Rangers that makes sense
if he signed with the Atlanta Thrashers then that would make sense |

I think so, taking everything into consideration.
The Risto debate is tough because I have little doubt he's much better than what Bylsma and Murray have set him up for.
Problem is he hasn't shown signs of "driving the bus" so to speak.
The most alarming stat for me is that at 5 on 5, Jack Eichel is actually better without Ristolainen in terms of possession, scoring etc - sbroads24

Buffalo you can't hide ? I doubt anybody is harassing players in Buffalo I've never heard of such stories reason why players come here because it's a family environment and you could raise a family and be left alone - GERBE!!!75PTS

And word gets around the league .............. just imagine how many players have a no-trade clause to Buffalo because of just that?
The opposite is playing for the Sharks .............. paradise for NHL players. They can walk around town, go out to eat with their families and nobody even bothers them. There's 15,000 people that know who they are and the rest of the millions couldn't care less who they are. - fastek
I brought up this point with Vesey wanting to go to NY instead of Buffalo. I said there would be wayy more pressure on him here had he come. Got blasted for it. People said the media is way more brutal in NY. Yea that may be true when they are IN the building, but once they leave they can get lost and be left alone within the city |

Not really. Its true. Buffalo is a fishbowl. All we have are the Bills and the Sabres. Thats it. Thats all we ever talk about and the only thing you ever hear about when the media talks sports. Buffalo is a small city, tiny even compared to a major metropolis like NY.
Toronto is a different story. |

Compared to places like New York and Toronto this is a cakewalk.. - GERBE!!!75PTS
New York is a cakewalk for hockey players. Nobody cares about it until playoff time and the reporters are easy to deal with. Toronto and Montreal are the tough markets. not the big cities. |

when I lived in Buffalo I would go to Wegmans and every time there would be a bunch of saber players I've never seen anybody go up to them and say hey man you suck, need to work on your game
Maybe it's different now but I've never seen people go up to them and just harass them they just let them be people
Maybe I'm just out of the loop now |

Look at Vesey. He chose NY and basically nobody really talks about him anymore. Now imagine if he signed here and under performed in a season like we had. He would be a laughing stock and way more under the microscope. I think he made the right choice |

they misused risto here, theres no denying that. but the barrie portion of the chart tells me two things.
1) he may be the most underrated player in the nhl
2) the rest of that d-core is more screwed than ours is, which is genuinely impressive. |

Just because you have never seen it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I worked at Wegmans during those years. And the players would def get attention. Not really in a bad way tho. More like local celebrities. I think Drury just didn't like all the attention and the constant reminders everywhere around him outside the rink. |

Wgr
Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - Many have expressed surprise that Tim Murray and Dan Bylsma were fired, but the players haven’t had their say yet. Ryan O’Reilly is preparing for the World Championships, but he said Thursday’s events took him off guard, “I was a little surprised. I thought it was going to stay the same and I thought if something was going to happen, it would’ve happened right when the season ended, but I understand the reasoning behind it as its two unsuccessful years for me.”
“It’s unfortunate you don’t want to see people go, I enjoyed playing for them and when there isn’t success, changes are going to be made and it happens, so I have to worry about myself and being a better player.” |

I think Gerbe you're missing the point that hockey is a niche sport in all the big American cities. There is little to no national coverage. Our city DEFINITELY blows things up when it comes to the Sabres. |

Ahhh.
From the person who should know better when it comes to asking a fellow journalist about sources.
Wrong, of course.
But why lecture?
Mike Harrington @ByMHarrington
Can't wait for the AP's next journalism lecture. Of course, all we heard from them was nothing indicated Bylsma was in trouble. Whatever. |
