We get it, you think your rebuild is amazing and you want a compliment about it. There is a lot of misery here in regard to hockey right now. Nobody is biting, so go away. - Phatjohnsn
I couldn't care less about a complement from you or anyone here. It makes not difference.
I was merely pointing out that the Sabres could be or perhaps should looking toward a division rival to see what they're doing that allowed them to turn the ship so quickly.
I get it, Sabres fans hate what's going on with the Leafs, but you have to admit what Lou, Shanny and Babs have done in such a short time has been impressive.
To be honest, when I look at the Sabres I see a lot of similarities i.e. a nice group of young forwards with a few decent vets to support and a weak D core, but also a number of the same issues that the Leafs had before the new management group arrived, i.e. Bad GM/coach, weak prospect pool and bad contracts i.e. Moulson, Ennis and Bogo.
This is an opportunity for the Sabres, but there is still loads of foundation work that needs to be done (personnel, scouting, drafting and shedding contracts) before Buffalo can begin to climb. |

Aaron Ward thinks Lombardi will be next GM. But Ward is a moron so there's that. |

Didn't see that. My sources on the inside suggest otherwise. I have two team doctors that say he's all in. And that Kane is a joke of a human being. - Buffalo--Sabres

Getting the full context out of Twitter is not my strong suit.
If you follow along Chris Ostrander from Trending Buffalo (@2ITB_Buffalo, good follow imo) argues with him a bunch. Pretty funny. |

Harrington is a d*ckhead, with his own agenda. There was a young kid at the end of the news conference, he asked a knowledgeable question. I was shocked, as I didn't think Buffalo Media had one of those?? - turbo044
he also looked very professional...the rest looked as if they just came in from the backyard |

I wouldn't totally hate Lombardi, he's experienced and has won but his prior tendencies scare me. |

what struck me as odd, in the presser from last week
was when Murray said he hasn't done much scouting this past year
that is suppose to be his strength

Nor should they. However the news on Kyle isn't good. I'm no doctor but I can't see how he returns. Without going into personal detail it was essentially a brain injury. Although my one guy said there's more to it. Interested to find out. |

having kadri, jvr, bozak and gardiner already probably helped. The mistakes made here were lofty expectations being set in such a short period of time and a GM's ego/obsession with getting his guys and assuming it would just work out perfectly. |

it really all depends upon the perception of players like kane, o'reilly and Lehner who were the primary players in their trades
for instance, will someone turn into a top-six forward which I believe kane is...or a top-notch, two-way center I believe O'Reilly is...or a decent no. 1 nhl goalie like I perceive Lehner to be...
colin white may be the best case scenario followed by jt compher - Michael Pachla
I think all this is true, but what I'm more concerned with is that we very well could have given up a future top 6 winger, center, goalie etc in all these deals that included futures.
Too early to tell, while we still aren't sniffing the playoffs.
Bulldog actually said it best yesterday, with all the picks/prospects we had, we should have had "waves of prospects" flooding the Sabres for a few years in a row. And if you hit on a few, you're golden, especially with the cap |

i think what he meant was his job doesnt allow him to do as much of that anymore. He was never right for the GM role. head scout/ass gm would have been perfect. |

I don't have it in my to back read the prior blog, since I'm not into self torture, so you may have already answered this, but what makes you think the above is true?
My guess would be Kane is as good as gone, not Reinhart, even with his current production compared to him being cost controlled for a while. |
