i know its gone silent since he re-signed but i wouldnt rule out a risto-trouba swap either. - Sabresfan-365
The only thing I don't like about this is Risto is signed long term and Trouba wants big money |

Okposo never struck me as a guy who care more about contract than winning. Sure he took a big contract, just like all FAs do because why wouldn't you.
Anyway, I was more piling onto the fact that TBN guys suck and their takes are always bad like this one. - Phatjohnsn

Do you know who he is? Michael - you'd be an improvement over all of them. I grew up with Bucky, don't always agree with him, but he means well. |

christ im more obvious than gerbe now
but yea i agree i think a year to get back on track is what they need. new coach new philosophy etc. if it works right away great if not we get a really good pick and some exciting hockey. - Sabresfan-365
Honestly, another top pick is just what the doctor ordered to fix this mess |

im not opposed to giving trouba a big deal if they can sort out the dead weight/cap issue first. |

I do not...but I liked his style...
bucky actually wrote a great piece yesterday on accountability beginning with Pegula...sure it had a buckism or two, but very well done...he's got it in him to be very fair and has the knowledge to back up what he thinks...but he has a problem with the wanting to be gm, if only for a day

i dont disagree i just wonder if ownership will put up with it. Unless they strike gold on some buy low candidate through expansion or the rest of the off season, this would be the surest way to build the D through picks or through trade really.

I'm fine with Risto. Unless I'm receiving Lindholm and Fowler in return, then why do I need to trade him?
Trouba is overrated and comes off as being full of himself with holding out and all. He can do what he wants, but perception is big.
Look at Kane and O'Reilly... Lots of people have issues with their off ice shenanigans. |

Problem with Bucky is Sullivan is his mentor. Tough to overcome that. |

would depend on who they add around them. Risto may have more gamechanger in him but i trust trouba way more 5 on 5 and thats what we need right now. |

Brendan Bresnahan: And yet the Leafs tank shook the losing standard rather quickly
Harrington: Because they've done everything around it better. It could have worked here too. But they blew it.
I thought he hated tanking

I don't think any top picks in this draft make this roster in 2017...
I'd like to see Buffalo deal out of their spot and get a dman that way. Hypothetically something like
Buffalo Round 1 Pick 5
for
Anaheim Round 1 Pick 25
Theodore
Manson
Might be overvaluing the pick we give up but whatever. I'm making that call anyway. |

Ristolainen for Theodore and Manson?
Sign me the hell up - chilliard77
Outside of Eichel, Risto is the last guy the Sabres should be trading. The guy is an absolute stud and will only get better.
Kane and Reinhart should be going first. |

Well the discussion stems from Yost's tweets. The reason I'd consider moving Risto is because I believe his current league value is higher than his actual value.
Contracts aside, I'd take Trouba over Risto |

I don't doubt that Bucky could be a nice guy. I think Sullivan and Harrington are probably people I'd avoid in my personal life though. I really wish they'd both move on, since they hate it here so much, and let someone young come in. This city is going through a (poor man's) renaissance of sorts. Wish our news would too. |

Noooo thanks
I know there are people around here that think Risto is not a #1.....they are delusional. |
