I didn't paint everyone with same brush. That's why I posted the guys name. You don't think that's funny? - Matthews_Auston
its so comical that it isn't comical. I have maybe seen the guy post once before, but he isn't a regular. The problem is we can't control the thoughts of others, no matter how irrational they are. |

People don't seriously think Tanev is going to get them the #3 overall pick do they??? - Matthews_Auston
one guy posts that Tanev is with a 3oa and a 3rd rounder and you think its the consensus? Come on man. If a leafs poster suggested Kapanen is worth two first round picks, I would safely be able to come to the assumption that the individual poster MAY not align with every other leaf poster lol |

Don't worry, Codesie - the Leafs thread is a safe space for opposition fans.
We may tease you a little, but you are welcome here.

I was only 7 or 8 during the 1994 playoffs, but I can remember my dad telling me how ashamed he was. Was too young to really remember how bad the damage really was. |

I've suppressed most of my Leafs memories from the Ballard years.
My psychologist says that's the mind's way of naturally protecting itself.
The memories would be simply too painful to recall. |

canucks re-sign miller yet? - Tumbleweed
I have already expressed my opinion on the 100 reasons NOT to sign Miller, but what do I know lol. My proposal was, sign Condon to a 1 year, 2-2.5 million deal. Significant upgrade on his 900k he made last year. Tell him to fight it out with Markstrom for the starter and see how it plays out. I can't even tell you how much I am against signing a 37/38 year old goalie who is wanting big money, especially when we know he will be paid big money to "mentor" Markstrom. It's so counter-productive in my eyes. I would love for the Canucks to sign a free agent goalie, in their mid 20's, save as much cap as possible, and utilize that free space next year (while we know we won't be good) and take on a bad contract from another team in exchange for a pick or prospect. |

For what it's worth, I've always loved Markstrom. Thought he'd be Florida's future goaltender a few years back. Was surprised they let him go. |

Between injuries and Benning's inflated loyalty towards Miller, he hasn't really had the best opportunity to be a #1. I don't think I am super confident he can be a true number 1, but I was hoping next year would be a good test for him. |

Agreed.
I don't think he'll be the reason the Nucks will miss or make the playoffs next year so might as well know exactly what you have in him. |

chad johnson might be a good fit on a 1-year deal. might have some TDL value.
i'll almost feel sorry for you guys and the team's direction if benning signs miller. almost, but not quite. |

The actual destruction wasn't that bad - I just peaked on Wikipedia, and they say it was $1.1 million.
The most vivid memory I have is a news clip of Vancouverites linking hands to protect storefronts, and a woman absolutely sobbing, saying over and over "this is bullsh#&!"
The pathetic thing about all Canadian riots is there is no rage - it's just a big laugh to everyone in the crowd. Destruction is fun! Look at us! Wheeeeeeee! |

Yes he can. Cheap, young, nhl ready, expansion exempt. That's valuable to a team that had an abundance of dman they can't protect. Those team can't take a jvr cAuse they just transfer the protection problem to the forward position.
If they can't get a top 4 dman (they surely can) then makes no sense to move him. - burn

I live on Vancouver Island, so I was watching the destruction from the TV, but definitely hurt just the same. |
